Aguada Fort North Goa
Aguada fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas. It was a reference point for the vessels coming from Europe at that time.

This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi River. It was initially tasked with defense of shipping and the nearby Bardez sub-district.
Aguada, meaning watery in the Portuguese language. Crews of passing ships would often visit to replenish their freshwater stores. The Aguada Fort Lighthouse erected in 1864 is the oldest of its kind in Asia.
During the Salazar Administration, Fort Aguada was repurposed for use as a prison primarily, some claim, for Salazar's political opponents.

Dona Paula beach is located at a distance of 7 km from Panjim and popularly called the lovers’ paradise in Goa. The name of the beach has been kept after the then Viceroy’s daughter Dona Paula de Menezes who was believed to be madly in love with a fisherman. Her insane love for the fisherman drove her to jump off the cliff when the Viceroy refused to strike a marriage alliance between the two.

Christopher Columbus' unsuccessful search for a western maritime route to India resulted in the "discovery" of the Americas in 1492, but it was Vasco da Gama who ultimately established the Carreira da India, or India Route, when he sailed around Africa and into the Indian Ocean, landing at Calicut (modern Kozhikode), India in 1498.

Varca Beach
Varca is a 2 kilometer long white beach with red and black lava rocks in some places.Varca is a home to the local fishing community and so wooden fishing boats are lined in some areas.
You will find mostly shrub vegetation here, with a few palm trees. The seemingly endless strip of sand is dotted with luxury resorts, hotels, and private villas, including some of the biggest names like Sterling, Club Mahindra, and Ramada. The stretch is almost entirely hawker-free, but there are some good beach shacks where you can stretch out on a sun bed to relax and enjoy your food and drinks.

Hidden beach visible only during low Tide.
South Goa holds some hidden gems that are waiting to be explored and one such gem is Honeymoon Beach. It is a hidden beach. Picturesque beauty’ would be the best way to describe the Honeymoon Beach.
This beach is surrounded by a green environment and the beautiful Arabian Sea. The beach is visible only at low tide and it is submerged during the high tide. To get to this beach one needs to ferry a boat from either Palolem Beach or Agonda. The name of the beach comes from the fact that it is visited by a large number of ‘honeymoon couples’.
A fun fact about this beach is that it stays only visible during the low tide and during a high tide stays mostly submerged.
