Common name: Konkan Dipcadi
Botanical name: Dipcadi concanense (Dalzell)
Family: Asparagaceae (Asparagus family)
Synonyms: Ornithogalum concanense, Uropetalon concanense

Konkan Dipcadi is a small rare herb found in the Konkan region of Western Ghats. Flowers are white, borne in 2-6-flowered racemes. Bracts are triangular long-pointed, shorter than the flower-stalks. Flower-stalks are 0.8-1.2 cm long. Flower-tube is about 3.7 cm long, with the petals much shorter than the tube, nearly equal. Bulb is small, and the leaves are few, 6-9 inches long, fleshy thread-like, round, deeply grooved above. The flowering stem 0.1-1 ft tall, round in cross-section.

Double Paired Smithia is an annual herb, 15-30 cm tall, with bristly branches. Leaves are strange, with two pairs of almost stalkless leaflets, 9-12 mm long, 4.5-9 mm broad. The species name bigemina precisely means double paired. Leaflets are obovate, serrated, tip blunt and bristle-pointed, base rounded or subacute. Inflorescence is a 2-8-flowered peduncled axillary cyme. Calyx bristly 2-lipped ; lower 3-lobed ; upper slightly emarginate. Yellow flower tube 4-8 mm long, twice the length of calyx. Stamens 5+5; anthers uniform. Pods 6-8 jointed, joints reticulate. Flowering: September-December

Jambhli manjiri is a small erect acquatic herb which grows up to 8-20 cm high. Branched stems are leafy, and arise out of creeping rootstocks. Narrow stalkless leaves occur in whorls of 5 or more. Flowers occur in dense hairy branched spikes, 3-7 cm long. Flower tube is hairy and purple, 2-3 mm. Hairy purple stamens protrude out of the flowers.
