Munnar Camping Munnar camping is a tour company based in munnar, our programs would be an unique experience for the munnar tourist. The reporting point is Head works dam.

Munnar Camping is located in the lap of West Ridge hills of Munnar Plateau at an altitude of 1800MSL. The camp is surrounded by grass land and thick evergreen jungle of cardamom plantations. Panoramic view of sky and mountains, mist filled valleys and ghats etc are the regular sight from the camp. Up on the west ridge which attaining a height of 2400MSL, is hooded the camp in its east with cliffs

and ridges. TOUR PLAN

The cool spicy wind from spice plantations in its foothill, the camp offers walks through the plantations, chatting with workers and farmers, spice farm visit and village visit. The surrounding forests , grass land, rhododendron valley and spice gardens offers good sighting of birds. A night walk through the plantation forest offers sighting of flying squirrels, Nilgiri Marten, Stripe necked mongoose, sambar, porcupine, pangolin, owls, night jars etc. Nilgiri Tahr can be sighted at the rock cliffs in morning and evening. To keep the serenity of the nature we are not using any permanent constructions other than a toilet.. The Camp can be accessible by walk and jeep . The usual programme starts after early lunch , from Munnar. Our guides and trackers meets you at the station . Trekking to the campsite would takes 3 to 4hrs walks through tea gardens, cardomom plantations, spice gardens, forests and grassland. The terrian consists of plain paths, slopes, rocky slopes and streams. Our crew will meet you at Munnar- Transfer (by jeep or) by walk through plantations, mountain pass, forest and grassland and reach the camp before sunset. Our kitchen crew will receive you with a fresh cup of tea. Rest of the day in the campsite watching birds and sunset. Campfire will be lite up at 7.30pm. It is time for dine and fun around the fire under the sky. Dinner will be served in fire place. Special BBQ will be provide as per request. Prepare for a night walk through farmforest to spot nucternal birds and animals.

The Neelakurinji , that blossoms only once in 12 years, carpeting the hill slopes during the flowering season. The wild flower grows at a height of 30 to 60 cm on hills slopes at an altitude of 1300 to 2400 meters where there is little or no tree forest. The flower has no smell or any medicinal value. The famed Niligiri Hills, which literally means the Blue Mountains, got their name from the purplish blue Neelakurinji flowers. Immense amount of honey become available and the rock bees and common hill bees visit the plant. It is also believed that the honey near the blossoms is the sweetest.A lot of mythological significance is attributed to the flower. Both the Muthuvas of Munnar and the Todas of the Nilgiris consider the flowering of Kurinji as auspicious.
