नालंदा प्राचीन काल से बुद्ध और उनके विचारों और शिक्षाओं का केंद्र रहा हैं, नालंदा से प्राप्त होने वाले पुरातात्विक साक्ष्य इसके प्राचीन ज्ञान के केंद्र होने की पुष्टि करते है।

लगभग 516-517 ईस्वी,उत्तर गुप्त काल नालंदा, बिहार

नालंदा में 1936-37 में एक प्रणामी स्तूप के भीतर ऐसी ईंट प्राप्त हुई, जिस पर निधान सूत्र या प्रतीय समुत्पाद सूत्र अंकित था तथा इसमें निरोध (निरोध खंड) शामिल था।

Nalanda has been a centre of Buddha and his thoughts and teachings since ancient times, archaeological evidence found in Nalanda confirms its being an ancient centre of knowledge.

A brick inscribed with the Nidhana Sutra, or the Pratitya Samutpada Sutra, including the Nirodha section, was discovered at Nalanda In 1936-37 within a votive stupa,

( Housed in the National Museum, New Delhi, currently exhibited in The light and lotus relics exhibition of Lord buddha)
