Udayagiri Hills: The Udayagiri Hills is the main tourist attraction here and is mingled with history. The hill is mentioned in the Ramayana, where Hanuman, the monkey god carried the hill to Lanka for a rare herb called as Sanjeevini, which is found on this hill, to cure Lakshman. After serving its purpose, the hill was supposedly thrown by Hanuman from a great height into the same place. The hill

landed upside down, and till this day one can find many boulders strewn around the hill. The hill has crystal clear water flowing downhill from an unknown source, which till date has not been found. The water from the hill is used for drinking by all the people of Udayagiri. Temples for Udaya Lakshmidevi,Udaya Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devastanam Duragampalli village loddi, Kona, Tapka, Choti Masjid & Badi Masjid are the main places to visit on the hill. There are efforts to develop infrastructure like roads, electricity etc. to make this as one of the best tourist spot in the State. It can be developed as 'Andhra Ooty', if sufficient funds are allotted by the government. Gandipalem Dam: A water body which is popular. It is used for the Drinking Water project and Cultivation water for farmers. It may be verified that the name of Langula Gajapati is Gangula Gajapati. This Is One Of the Most Tourism Place In Nellore Dist In Andhrapradesh

PepsiCo ready to invest in Andhra Pradesh.
CBN’s meeting with PepsiCo chairman Ms. Indra Nooyi proves successful.

CBN met Ms. Indra Nooyi and explained the tremendous potential that the new State of Andhra Pradesh presented. PepsiCo has evinced interest in setting up mango-pulp units in the State. The FMCG giant is also interested in procuring agriculture produce from the State in huge quantities. PepsiCo is also keen to take up packaging and branding of Coconut water in Konaseema.

Highlights of the meetings:

· To encourage coconut farmers in Konaseema, PepsiCo has evinced interest in packaging and branding tender coconut water

· PepsiCo is keen to purchase jowar, papaya, banana and other agri and horticulture produce and has agreed to buy 70 million tonnes mango pulp - the total production in the State

· PepsiCo has come forward to set up mango-pulp units in Chittoor, Krishna and Godavari districts

· As part of its CSR initiatives, PepsiCo will support Andhra Pradesh in its digital literacy programme


Ms. Indra Nooyi will visit Andhra Pradesh in March to finalize PepsiCo’s collaboration with CBN’s Government.

Retail giant Walmart will open outlets in AP, create jobs and source local produce from farmers!

On Day 2 of his trip to Davos, CBN met David Cheesewright, President & CEO, Walmart International and discussed on areas of collaboration with the global retail giant. Walmart is planning to open retail stores in Andhra Pradesh and will promote and purchase ‘Made in Andhra’ products.

Highlights of collaboration:

· 20 such organically grown products including cashew, peanuts, rice, coconut, maize, pulses, fruits, marine products, Banana, Mango, Citrus, Egg, Dairy, Coffee, Papaya, Potato will be sourced from the farmers and exported to international markets with Walmart’s help
· Products manufactured by the DWCRA women groups will be identified and promoted by Walmart
· Walmart will source agri produce from local farmers only, much like its model in several countries

Mr. Cheesewright is scheduled to visit Andhra Pradesh in April 2015 and confirmed that Walmart India CEO will meet CBN to pursue the collaboration.
