World Heritage Day 2026
Today, on April 18, we observe World Heritage Day, also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. This year’s theme, “Emergency Response for Living Heritage in Contexts of Conflicts and Disasters,” reminds us how fragile our cultural legacy can be in the face of global challenges.
From historic monuments to living traditions, our heritage tells the story of who we are. But climate change, urbanization, and conflicts continue to threaten these invaluable treasures.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate, protect, and preserve our heritage—for future generations. Whether it’s visiting a local site, spreading awareness, or supporting conservation efforts, every small action counts.
