“Challenge Me” Quiz Organised by Front Office Team for Batch 2023–2027

On 11th April 2025, the Front Office team of BCIHMCT successfully organized an exciting and intellectually stimulating quiz competition titled “Challenge Me”exclusively for the batch of 2023–2027. The event was thoughtfully designed to enhance the knowledge base of students while promoting active participation and healthy competition.

The quiz began with an Online Preliminary Round in which all students of batch 2023 took part enthusiastically. Based on their scores, 12 students were shortlisted to advance to the next level of the competition.

The second stage was Faculty Round which brought a more in-depth test of knowledge. In this round, each of the 12 participants was asked 10 questions by the faculty members. The questions covered a variety of academic and industry-related topics, allowing the students to demonstrate their understanding and quick thinking.

The final stage was the Audience Round, which stood out for its interactive nature. During this round, students from the same batch were given the opportunity to ask questions to the remaining participants.

The winners of the “Challenge Me” quiz competition were:

Manav Dangaich – Second Place
Farhin Sheikh – Third Place

The core objective of “Challenge Me” was to enhance the knowledge of both the participants and the audience. It served as an excellent platform to stimulate curiosity, test learning, and foster communication among students.

The event was smoothly and effectively coordinated under the guidance of the faculty coordinators Ms. Divya Thakur and Dr. Rohit Kumar, Assistant Professors at BCIHMCT. Their dedication and support played a key role in making the event successful.

BCIHMCT proudly hosted the Academic Partnership Summit on 14th–15th April 2025, welcoming a prestigious five-member delegation from Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), Nepal. This two-day summit marked a milestone in fostering cross-border academic collaboration in the fields of hospitality and tourism.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Prof. R.K. Bhandari, Director, BCIHMCT, emphasizing the spirit of mutual growth. Esteemed Guest of Honour, Dr. Sudhir Andrews, added value with his insights and the launch of his latest book Tourism – Past, Present and Future.

Key highlights included presentations on BCIHMCT’s global-standard curriculum, best practices, research initiatives, and immersive campus tours of culinary and hospitality labs. The event was held at Indian School of Hospitality (ISH), Gurugram on April 11, 2025.

Competing against 36 participants from across the country, they showcased exceptional skill and dedication. We are incredibly proud of their outstanding achievement.

BCIHMCT Awards Shri Rajindera Kumar Memorial Scholarship at IIHTTRC 2025

During the 15th India International Hotel, Travel & Tourism Research Conference (IIHTTRC), held at BCIHMCT, New Delhi from February 27 to March 1, 2025, the Shri Rajindera Kumar Memorial Scholarship was proudly reaffirmed. This year’s recipient, Ms. Aaksh*ta Khanna (Batch 2021–2025), was awarded the scholarship by Mrs. Francina Joseph, Head of HR at IHCL. The scholarship supports academically meritorious and needy students. BCIHMCT extends sincere gratitude to Shri Shivendra Kumar and family for their generous contribution, continuing the legacy of Late Shri Rajindera Kumar—a stalwart in the hospitality industry.

BCIHMCT in collaboration with AB Mauri India Hosts Exclusive Baking Workshop

On 5th April 2025, BCIHMCT conducted a bakery workshop in association with AB Mauri India for the students of BCIHMCT, New Delhi. A total of 20 students took part in the workshop.

The workshop was conducted by the Technical Director, HR Head, Sales Team, and R&D specialists from AB Mauri, Gurugram. The session included the making of artisan breads, multigrain, sandwich loaf and bread rolls. Eggless brownies, muffins and Dry Cakes were also prepared with AB Mauri premixes. The products were then sampled by the participants.

The workshop ended with a quiz and written Test where 3 winners emerged and were felicitated with AB Mauri Gift Hampers. The event was coordinated by Mr. R. Kundu, HOD, Patisserie, BCIHMCT, New Delhi.

BCIHMCT Students Embark on a Transformative Internship in France!

We are proud to share that our students from Batch 2022-26 – Disha Aggarwal , Shubham Pal, Aditya Murali, Prerak Mehra, Piyush Kashyap and Vansh Mehta are currently undergoing an enriching international internship at Hotel Snow Lodge Ski Resort and Domaine de la Klauss, France. This prestigious opportunity allows them to gain hands-on experience across all four core hospitality departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food Production, and Food & Beverage Service.

During their time in France, the students are honing their skills in guest services at the Front Office, mastering housekeeping operations to maintain global standards, exploring diverse culinary techniques in Food Production, and delivering exceptional dining experiences in Food & Beverage Service. This international exposure is instrumental in shaping their future careers, providing them with a deeper understanding of global hospitality trends, cultural adaptability, and practical insights into luxury hospitality operations. Such experiences not only enhance their technical expertise but also prepare them to excel in a competitive industry with a global perspective.

Expressing his thoughts on this invaluable learning experience, Prof. Bhandari, Principal, BCIHMCT, shared, "Experiencing different cultures and hospitality practices firsthand is a great asset for any aspiring hotelier. On 27th March 2025, a Flower Arrangement & Towel Origami Workshop was organized by BCIHMCT, New DELHI for the students of Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase-II. A total of 10 students, accompanied by their faculty member Ms. Chhaya, actively participated in this creative learning session.

The event began with a warm welcome and address by our Director, Prof. R.K. Bhandari, who emphasized the importance of creativity and hands-on learning in shaping young minds.

The workshop was led by Ms. Jyotsna and Dr. Rachna Chandan, who provided a detailed demonstration of both floral arrangement and towel origami techniques. They guided the students through the intricate process of designing elegant flower arrangements and transforming simple towels into artistic shapes, emphasizing creativity and precision.

After the demonstration, students eagerly tried their hands at these skills, showcasing their imagination and craftsmanship. The interactive session not only enhanced their aesthetic sense and dexterity but also introduced them to valuable skills relevant to hospitality and event decor.

The BCIHMCT Alumni Meet, held on 29 March 2025, was a resounding success, with almost all batches from 1999 to 2016 in attendance, along with former faculty members.

The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a special address by our Principal, Prof. R.K. Bhandari. He shared his insightful thoughts on the institute's 25 years of excellence, highlighting its remarkable journey and achievements.

Former Principal, Dr. Nisheeth Srivastava, and senior faculty member, Mr. Vaskar Sengupta, also graced the occasion with their words of wisdom, offering valuable advice and nostalgic anecdotes.

The alumni took center stage, sharing their fond memories and experiences, which added a lighthearted and nostalgic touch to the event. The cultural team seamlessly managed the proceedings, presenting mesmerizing dance performances and engaging the alumni in entertaining games that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Pansari Group, in association with BCIHMCT, organized an internal chef competition where students were tasked with preparing snacks within 45 minutes using Chefy’s products. Participants showcased their culinary skills and creativity, producing delicious dishes with outstanding presentations.

The winners of the competition were:

First Prize: Nandini Gupta
Second Prize: Suhail Khan
Third Prize: Kanan Chopra
These students will now proceed to the final round of the competition.

The event was organized under the supervision of Chef Sumit Pant, Head of the Food Production Department, and Faculty Coordinator Chef Amit Thakur.
