In 2020, corruption seems to be less about a few individuals and more about complex systems with pathways that reward corruption. Rather than laying all the emphasis on the scale and scope of corruption, it is time to recognise that the empowered youth of our society have the power and responsibility to change the corruption culture for the national and global evolution.

As part of the UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime initiative, our grade 7 Cambridge learner, Maya underlines the need to root out corruption for us to recover better from COVID-19 and accelerate the progress towards an equal and just world.

Through her poem, she inks her reflective thoughts to promote meaningful awareness on the role of community in eradicating corruption on this International Anti-corruption Day.
