https://gulfvisaservices.com/uae-overstay-fine-waiver-2026-complete-guide-eligibility/
If you were stranded in the UAE due to the regional airspace disruptions in late February 2026 โ you may not owe a single dirham in overstay fines.
The UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has officially waived overstay fines for all affected travellers, effective from February 28, 2026.
โ
Who qualifies?
โ Visit & tourist visa holders whose stay lapsed due to flight suspensions
โ Departure permit holders who exceeded their grace period
โ Cancelled residency permit holders unable to depart
๐ How to check your UAE visa status:
โข Dubai visa? โ Visit gdrfad.gov.ae
โข All other emirates? โ Visit smartservices.icp.gov.ae
This waiver is a targeted relief measure โ not a blanket amnesty. Fines before February 28 are not covered, and travellers should depart or regularise their status as soon as flights resume.
