Dos and Don’ts of Full Moon Party

✅ Dos

Always book your accommodation in advance to save yourself from last time trouble.

Keep your valuable personal belongings safe and hidden.

Make sure to wear shoes as they will protect you from the broken glass pieces of bottles.

Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated. It will help you with the following day’s hangover.

Eat some snacks while partying, so you don’t keep consuming alcohol on an empty belly.

After night-long dancing and drinking it is better to book a cab ride back to your hotel.

❌Don’ts

Do not buy Thai bucket (drink) from cheap and shady beach shacks. Always buy them from well-established bars.

Don’t take drinks/eatables from any ‘friendly’ strangers.

Don’t go for fire skipping ropes no matter how much enticing or thrilling it looks. Many people get burn marks and hurt themselves in a drunken state.

Don’t go for swimming or near water in a drunken state.

Say no to drugs as they are illegal in Thailand; if caught, you will straight up land in jail. Police officers often go undercover to the parties posing as drug peddlers trying to catch tourists red-handed while buying.

Guide to enjoying the best of Koh Phangan's Full moon parties:

As a tourist, you should at least get one experience of the FMP happening in Koh Phangan - the fifth largest island of .

The best time to enjoy a Full moon party would be from November to April when it's neither too hot nor rainy.

Q. How to get to Koh Phangan Island?

BUS: 🚏
Take the 6:00 PM bus from Bangkok's southern bus terminal to Haad Rin.
Tickets are around 800 Baht (bus ride + ferry)

TRAIN: 🚆
Take the train from Hualamphong station in Bangkok to Surat Thani. From there, you take a 1.5-hour bus ride to the pier, where you take the ferry to Thong Sala at Koh Phangan.

Tickets 🎫 start from 1400 Baht, including the bus transfer to the pier and the ferry to the island.

Q. Where to stay in Haad Rin?
Always book your tickets in advance if you want to attend a full moon party. Sunrise Resort, Sea Garden Resort, Family House Resort etc., are some options.

Q. What to wear?
People generally wear casual, comfortable beach wear. So dress the part.
