🚧 Nadakkavu Railway Overbridge misses September 15 completion target

The construction of the Nadakkavu Railway Overbridge at Akathethara, Palakkad, has not met the September 15 deadline set by the district administration. Work is continuing, but the promised completion of road tarring on the bridge by this date has also not happened.

Metal laying on the approach roads is currently in progress. Several works are still pending, including tarring, service roads, drainage, safety barriers/handrails and works beneath the bridge.

Officials involved in the project had earlier informed an Akathethara Panchayat meeting that the overbridge could be completed only around October 10. Whether this revised target will be met remains to be seen.

Importantly, the bridge can be opened to traffic only after all works are completed and the mandatory load test is carried out.

Residents who have been waiting for this crucial infrastructure project now deserve a clear, realistic completion date - and adherence to it.
