Triptee - The Taste of Himachal.
The Story: Built as a mud cowshed in 1987, this structure has stood the test of time. We used it for over 25 years as a cowshed and renovated few years back to what you now see in pictures. The ground floor now serves as a dining and kitchen for our in-house guests and the 1st floor has a spacious 1 room kitchen setup called Rachna.
Our in house kitchen is called
Triptee - The Taste of Himachal.
It churns out dishes to satisfy your taste buds and will definitely leave you wanting for more.

We specialise in Himachali cuisine with over 50 years of experience in preparing various himachali recepies.These age old recipes are not written anywhere but are passed on from one generation to another. Hence these are exclusive dishes and won't be available in the open market.
We have recently Re-innovated Triptee (kitchen and dining area) and now has a seating capacity of 25 People.

There is freshness in the air stillness after an abundance of rain this year. These recent pictures from our home and around are a testimonial to it.
Roads are all clear and the weather is fine. We are open and hosting.

We woke up to a surprise with seasons 1st snowfall on the Dhauladhar range.
Though ,It's quite unusual to have snowfall this early in the season but we are not complaining.
Himachal is recovering and most road connectivity is back to normal. The route to Dharohar is open via Chandigarh - Mandi - Bir as well as Chandigarh - Una - Kangra - Palampur.
NH 154 (Pathankot - Mandi) is operating normally for all vehicular traffic.

Today is the 3rd consecutive day with sunshine and very little rain in between. We are safe here at Dharohar cottages and thankful to all who reached out to check on us. 🙏
Himachal is witnessing unprecedented rains and destruction in terms of lives, property and roads. Never have we witnessed this kind of destruction in many decades.We pray and hope for the safety of everyone. 🕉️

Dear All, Thank you for checking with us if we are fine. These pictures were clicked yesterday evening from our terrace after rain stopped after 3 days of very heavy rains.
We are all good here and today is a bright sunny day here.
There have been a lot of scary videos over the internet about the situation in Himachal. Yes , the situation was scary in Mandi, Kullu, Manali and adjoining areas.Rain has stopped now so the situation will improve. Authorities are doing everything possible to restore the roads, power and telecommunications. Please be patient 🙏
If you're trying to contact anyone in that region please understand that the power and telecommunications are down and may take some time to restore.
May the divine give strength to everyone to overcome this challenge 🕉️

Suhru-Ri-Dhar hike.!!
One of the most scenic places in this region is Suhru-ri-dhar.
If you love to go on hikes, you would be glad to know that there are plenty around Dharohar Cottages.
These scenes are captured at a nearby hill called Suhru-ri-dhar. You can either go for a 2 hour hike or go for a scenic drive of about 30 mins drive to reach this place.
