*GTDC announces monsoon trekking expedition to Tambdi Surla Waterfalls on 29th June*

*Panaji, June 23, 2025:* The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is pleased to announce a special Monsoon Trekking Expedition to Tambdi Surla Waterfalls on Sunday, 29th June 2025.

Set amidst the lush greenery of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary, the Tambdi Surla waterfall is one of Goa’s most spectacular monsoon destinations. As part of the expedition, participants will also visit the ancient Shiva Temple at Tambdi Surla, dating back to the 12th century.

The trail from the temple to the waterfall offers an immersive nature experience, with dense forests, flowing streams, birds, butterflies, and a serene natural atmosphere. The waterfall cascades into a serene pool, inviting trekkers to unwind with a refreshing dip in its cool, clear waters.

The trek, which takes approximately 90 minutes one way, is moderately challenging and recommended for those in good physical condition. The experience promises to be both adventurous and rejuvenating, making it ideal for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts.

The trekking expedition is priced at ₹1400/- per person, which includes transport, guiding services, and lunch.

Transport arrangements have been made for the convenience of participants. Buses will depart from Mapusa Residency at 7:00 AM and Margao Residency at 6:45 AM. Reporting at Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji is scheduled at 7:30 AM. Additional pick-up points include Old Goa, Banasthari, Farmagudi, and Ponda.

Participants are requested to carry an extra pair of clothes, rainwear, trekking shoes, snacks, and binoculars. Smoking and alcohol consumption will not be permitted. All are urged to respect nature and avoid littering or using plastic in the sanctuary area.

This trek is part of GTDC’s continued efforts to promote nature-based and adventure tourism in Goa’s hinterlands during the monsoon season.

Explore Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary with Foresters: An Overnight Adventure

Panjim, July 9th, 2024 - The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and the Goa Forest Department are pleased to announce the launch of an exclusive overnight activity for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Scheduled for July 13th - 14th, 2024, this event promises an immersive experience into the heart of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary.

The event, lasting 1 day and 1 night, includes guided nature trails, a birding trip, and interaction with foresters. The main focus of this trip is to observe herpetofauna, including snakes, frogs, and geckos. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the forest, rich in wildflowers and bird species.

The itinerary for the event starts on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, with arrival and check-in at the dormitories, followed by an ice-breaking session, there will be an orientation to the forest and wildlife of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, followed by a jungle trail with forest officials, along with discussions on nature and conservation, focusing on snakes and frogs. On Sunday, July 14th, 2024, participants embark on a guided morning jungle trail, followed by a guided trail around the heritage site and Bondla Zoo.

The tour costs *₹2400* per person, which includes tea and snacks, dinner, morning tea, breakfast, lunch, and dormitory accommodation, or *₹2900* per person for twin-sharing accommodation with all the same inclusions. Transportation will depart from Mapusa Residency at 2:30 PM, Paryatan Bhawan at 3:00 PM, and Margão Residency at 3:15 PM, with pick-up available en route. Participants are advised to carry rainwear suitable for trekking in the forest, pen torches, drinking water bottles, and appropriate footwear. It is recommended to wear earth-colored clothing for the trail.
