If you’re anywhere near Panjim’s Latin Quarter, you absolutely have to swing by this tiny old-school bakery... it’s called Confeitaria de 31 Janeiro. Opened in 1930, this is one of Panjim’s oldest active bakeries. Everything’s still baked in wood-fired ovens, the traditional way.

Grab a choriz calzone, a rum ball or two, and if they’ve still got bebinca left, don’t even think, just buy it.

There are a couple of outdoor tables where you can sit with a hot veg or chicken patty and people-watch for hours as well. But don’t forget to go early, because their good stuff sells out fast! .31
