Good operational support is often the work nobody sees.

During India’s monsoon, the ATTS team monitors weather, airport conditions, alternates, handling, fuel, crew-duty exposure and onward requirements.

The purpose is simple: identify operational friction early and keep every provider working from the same plan.

Runway confirmed. What about the stand?
Noida International’s first phase includes:
• 3,900-metre runway
• 28 apron stands
• 24 Code C positions
• 2 designated Code D/F positions
For larger aircraft or longer ground stays, confirm parking, handling equipment, fuel, towing requirements and approvals before committing the movement.

During India’s monsoon, one alternate may not be enough.
Mumbai Airport suspended runway operations for approximately one hour on 5 July as heavy rain, poor visibility and gusty winds affected the airport. Thirteen inbound flights diverted.

That same day, 15 Delhi-bound flights were diverted to Jaipur and Lucknow. On 8 July, another nine Mumbai-bound flights diverted despite the city being under a lower yellow weather alert.

Weather alerts provide useful context, but they do not fully predict runway closures, congestion or the airport’s recovery time.
Before confirming an alternate, check:
• Weather separation from the destination
• Aircraft and stand compatibility
• Parking and operating hours
• Customs and immigration availability
• Confirmed handling
• Fuel availability and uplift time
• Recovery and onward-flight options
A reachable runway is not automatically a workable alternate.

Holiday demand and monsoon disruption require one shared operational plan.
India’s Independence Day falls on Saturday, 15 August. The country also remains within its southwest monsoon season.

With major airlines reporting June load factors above 85%, last-minute recovery seats could be limited on busy routes.

Before the weekend, reconfirm crew margins, handling, parking, fuel, alternates, CIQ availability and passenger recovery arrangements.

Navi Mumbai’s international status introduces new operational checks.
Air India Express launched the airport’s first scheduled international service to Abu Dhabi on 15 July.

The next step for operators is to verify the complete international-arrival process: approvals, customs and immigration, handler readiness, airside access, parking, fuel and ground transport.

Navi Mumbai and CSMIA are separate airports. Every operational instruction should identify the exact field—not simply “Mumbai.”

A Mumbai cargo connection may now include a transfer between two airports.
Cathay Cargo announced plans to move its three weekly freighter services to Navi Mumbai International Airport from 3 August, subject to operational and regulatory conditions.

Passenger aircraft—and their belly-hold cargo—continue to operate through CSMIA. A shipment connecting between a freighter at Navi Mumbai and a passenger flight at CSMIA may therefore require a road transfer.

Before confirming the shipment, check both airports, handlers, customs requirements, security arrangements, transfer responsibility and cold-chain protection.

Fuel-planning assumptions can change within a month.

India’s indicative Delhi ATF rate for domestic airlines fell by approximately ₹5 per litre on 1 July, reaching around ₹110 per litre. On 1 August, an increase of approximately ₹5,000 per kilolitre was reported.

But the headline rate does not represent the complete uplift cost.

Pricing can vary by airport, state-level VAT, operation type, supplier terms and applicable charges. Tankering may also create additional fuel burn and affect payload or aircraft performance.

Before deciding where to uplift, operators should compare the current airport-specific quotation with the full operational cost of the sector.

Paperless Engineering: Air India Receives DGCA Approval for Electronic Tech Logbooks 💻✈️

Digitalization in aviation is moving beyond passenger processing and straight into core maintenance operations.

On July 13, 2026, the DGCA officially approved Air India to transition from paper records to Electronic Technical Logbooks (ETL) as the primary technical document for its Boeing 787 fleet, with parallel implementation underway for its Boeing 777 widebody fleet.

Key benefits of transitioning to ETL:
• Faster Defect Communication: Real-time sync between flight crew and maintenance control.
• Enhanced Traceability: Streamlined audit trails and compliance logging.
• Better Dispatch Reliability: Quicker decision-making reduces aircraft downtime on the ramp.

Moving engineering data at digital speed keeps fleets flying safely and on time.
