📢 Important Update for F, M, and J Visa Applicants to the U.S.
Effective immediately, all individuals applying for F, M, or J and nonimmigrant visas must ensure their social media account privacy settings are set to “public.” This step supports the U.S. government’s efforts to verify identity and determine visa eligibility.
Since 2019, applicants have been required to provide all social media usernames or handles used in the past five years on the DS-160 visa application form. Incomplete or inaccurate submissions—particularly the omission of social media information—can lead to visa denial or future ineligibility.
🔍 All information submitted is reviewed as part of a broader screening and vetting process focused on national security and applicant admissibility.
