What We Do:

The Blue Yonder was created to provide meaningful travel experiences for discerning travellers. It all started back in 2004 with a small initiative on river conservation in the state of Kerala. From then on, we’ve been knitting together many beautiful and inspirational holidays for our guests. The Blue Yonder brings together authentic and unique experiences that are intimately connect

ed to the local communities we engage and work together with. We enable travellers to be part of some of the most inspiring stories around – of communities working together to provide unique experiences in some of the most magical places on Earth. The values that we are promoting as a series A to Z of Responsible Tourism, is an attempt to celebrate responsible travel. We are reaching out to you to hear from you and see how you relate to each of these values. We will be using Tumblr, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube among other social media tools to promote and facilitate the discussions. The interim website http://atozofrt.com aims to be the platform to bring together all social media discussions on a common platform. The site will help streamline all social media content around . As we are still in a development stage, your feedback is valuable for us. Tumblr http://atozofrt.tumblr.com/

What a turn out at the first StoryTellers Network meetup!

We tell stories. Stories of places and its people. We share our knowledge of art, craft, heritage, culture, bio-diversity, architecture etc. with travellers and local community members including children.

We volunteer to take children on heritage walks, we take them out with their teachers to know their own neighbourhood, about rivers, about passionate people who make a difference. We share our passion for stories with discerning travellers.

Story tellers in this network contribute their time for an hour or two, a week or anything that’s possible.
Except for the volunteering for schools, these storytellers earn money for the time they spent. A good supplementary source of income for anyone ranging from students to house wives to retired basically anyone who want to use their time creatively.
It’s a platform for those who like to write, research , document and tell stories.

Some of us are also part of 'Riverkeepers initiative' where we volunteer to teach kids how to swim and be comfortable with water (bodies) all around us. (hence reduce the drownings that we witness in a state like Kerala).

We have been doing this as part of trails from The Blue Yonder. Now trying to replicate it with scale and larger impact.

This is the bronze bas relief depicting the arrival of Governor Joseph François Dupleix in Pondicherry in 1742. It is behind French War Memorial.
It was carved during the 1930's by French sculptor Petit. A copy do exist in Paris, Inside Dupleix Street Primary School.

We have here a typical sample of colonial art.
Dupleix is standing as the new boss, while Pierre Benoist Dumas, his predecessor is bowing. Dupleix has the mobile strenght of French fleet. Dumas has behind him the heavy and exotic subcontinent. Elephants and modest people are bowing, as all India is supposed to do. The Indian merchants are just respectfully standing, but ready to bow.
They are the partners of French East India Company. Maybe we have among them Pedro Kanagaraya Mudaliar and Ananda Ranga Pillai...PC and write up : Narayana sankar
