🎣 Some fish just pull, but these BIG GTs try to take your fishing rod with them. 🌊

🇧🇷 Captain Fernando Filho brought the whole FF Pesca crew to the Andamans and they made a week of it. 🌊🎣

When you need a fighting belt, you know it's a serious fish.

You don't strap in for something small. Watch José lean back against everything this GT had rod bent to the cork, the fish digging hard for the reef on every run. It came up boatside eventually. On its terms, not his.

Landed strong. Released strong.

One thing we tell every angler before the first cast if you're going after GT, your fighting belt goes on before you cast, not after the fish is hooked. By the time you need it, you won't have hands free to put it on.

Look at the shoulders on these GT fish 🐟 💪🏻

That's not fat. That's what happens when a predator spends its life hunting hard reef in strong current. Pure muscle, built for one thing and the second it feels the hook it uses every bit of it to get back to the structure it came from.

Holding one up for a photo sounds simple. Ask the anglers in these frames how their arms felt afterwards.

That weight is exactly why people keep coming back to Port Blair. The strike is violent, the fight is short, and by the time it's over you understand completely why GT fishing has the reputation it does.

No bait. No shortcuts. You cast, you work the lure across the surface, and when a GT decides it wants it, the water explodes before you've even processed what's happening. Then it turns and runs straight for the reef and the next thirty seconds decide everything.

Every angler in this set went through that. First-timers, veterans, men, women - the fish doesn't adjust for any of it.

That's the thing about topwater GT fishing. It's the same hit, the same run, the same thirty seconds of chaos for everyone. What changes is whether you're ready for it.

The moment this GT felt the hook, it went straight for the reef 45 kilos of Andaman muscle doing everything it could to bust him off. José gave it nothing back. 💪 He held the line, turned the fish, and wore it down to the boat.

A GT doesn't give you a moment to settle in. It hits, it turns, and it's already heading for the reef before your brain has caught up with what just happened. You either stop it in the first few seconds or you don't stop it at all.

Every angler in this reel had that conversation with a fish this season. Every one of them won it.

Port Blair grounds. Topwater. The real thing.

Not every angler leaves with a trophy GT. But every angler leaves with something.

The Andamans does that. Even on a tough day - blank sessions, missed strikes, fish that got to the reef before you could stop them - there's something about being out on that water that stays with you. The ones who do land a big GT will be showing that photo for years. The ones who don't will be back to try again.

These fish don't check who's holding the rod. First trip or tenth, the GT here pulls the same hard, deep, and straight for the structure. Every angler in these frames held on and won their fish. Not everyone does. That's part of what makes it worth coming for.
