Oriental Darter or Snakebird basking in sunlight...

Oriental darters spend most of their time roosting or swimming. Since their feathers are not completely waterproof, they absorb water and are less buoyant, allowing for faster swimming and diving. Darters sit on branches in the sun and spread their wings to preen and allow them to dry.

Termite mound and Sloth bears....

When we hear the word ‘termites’, most of us are reminded of the pest that eat away the wood in our houses, causing irreparable damage and expensive chemical treatments. But did you know that termites also act as indicators of the health of an ecosystem and their nests, also called mounds, Various researches have proved that, termites are detritivores that eat dead and decaying organic matter. They form an important link in the cycling of nutrients in the forests by breaking down wood and organic residues on the ground, which would otherwise take years to decay by microbes.

Sloth bears feed predominantly on termite mounds and ants. Their long, curved claws are used for penetrating termite
mounds. Once they’ve opened a hole, they close their nostrils and use their lips like a vacuum nozzle to suck out the termites from the mound.

Basic photography, Camera handling, optimum use of the equipment and basic post processing of the images will be the key topics of the workshop
With outdoor photography session.
