"HUMANITY IS THE BEST SERVICE"
When you have an exceptional experience on the very 1st tour of your team as proffesional trekkers and guide, you just cannot keep it to yourself.
Hey folks We "The Live Safari" had arranged our 1st ever trek to 'Devkund Waterfalls' on 25th of June 2017 which was successful in 'other ways.'
So as we had planned we left from Pune at 6 'o clock with 23 people i.e on Sunday.
The climate was cloudy, and there were good signs of rain, but we had speculated that there shouldn't be a heavy rainfall.
We crossed the 1st water stream easily as it was drizzling. We reached to the 2nd stream after half an hour which was flooded heavily and every other group like us were shocked to see this.
No one was even able to imagine to cross the stream as it was highly flooded with flowing water and since safety is our primary concern we decided to wait for sometime, so that as the water level goes down we can decide further.
After the observations we came to know that the stream was almost 6 feet deep with the heavy currents flowing under it.
As there was heavy rainfall and the stream was heavily flooded, we speculated that there is no way that all the trekkers could cross the stream with an unecessary risk as it was also pouring in the mountains. We quickly took the decision to move back to Bhira village.
But there we came with an amazing surprise, while moving back we saw that the 1st stream was converted into flood with a scary flow of water.
Around 200 people were stuck at the ends of the flooded stream, some were trying to fix the ropes while some were worried and were running to rescue point. To avoid the panic situation we gathered all the participants at one place and told them to be calm and not to panic.
As the rain slowed down we decided to cross the stream as the flow of water was reduced and it was the right time to move before it gets flooded again. We found easiest way to cross the stream by holding hands and making a human chain so that we could stand firmly with a support in a flowing water.
We the leaders and participants together made a human chain and informed everyone to hold us while crossing.
By showing team spirit and team work we were able to cross the flooded stream with all the participants who were eagerly waiting for rescue.
Though we were unable to complete the trek, we got an amazing experience.
And as it was our 1st trek as proffesional's and it didn't get completed, we still think we got 200% instead of 100.
And We will complete this one for the next time for sure.
Moral of the Story.
1)No one can overshadow the courage of the one who never get's demoralized.
And
2)'Humanity' is the best service you can offer to anyone which satisfies your soul.
