⛰️🚴♂️🚗✨ Home again, with tired legs, a camera full of memories, and a heart full of mountains. The Julian Alps, the Dolomites, Tre Cime, and the legendary Stelvio Pass—what a ride!
Its been two wonderful weeks of cycling through the Julian Alps on the Alpe Adria Cycle Route, connecting the Austrian Alps to the Italian Adriatic coast.
We followed the ride with an unforgettable road trip through the Dolomites, driving from Trieste to Cortina d'Ampezzo, where we completed the iconic Tre Cime trek. From there, we continued to Bolzano and crossed the legendary Passo dello Stelvio (2,757 m / 9,045 ft), the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps.
Renowned for its breathtaking scenery and demanding switchbacks, Stelvio is a driver's dream. The northern side features 48 numbered hairpin bends, while the southern side has over 40 more. Navigating those tight 180-degree turns requires focus, skill, and a healthy respect for the mountains.
From alpine peaks and emerald valleys to winding mountain roads and unforgettable views, it was an incredible journey from start to finish.
Mountains climbed, passes crossed, memories made. Revived old friendships made some new friends. What a journey! ⛰️🚴♂️🚗✨
