A team of 35 trekking enthusiasts successfully completed the Vasota Fort Jungle Trek with Sahyadri Adventure Club, Pune on 15th–16th November.
Our journey began on Saturday afternoon as we left Pune by bus and reached the serene campsite at Bamnoli, located on the banks of the Koyna backwaters. After refreshments, we enjoyed a lively bonfire session filled with fun games, singing, dancing, and lots of laughter. A delicious veg and non-veg dinner, prepared by our local partner, added to the memorable evening before everyone retired to their tents for the night.
Sunday started early with everyone gearing up for the boat ride and trek. After breakfast, we embarked on a scenic 1.5-hour boat journey to the base of Vasota Fort. The 2-hour jungle trek took us through lush forests, flowing streams, and steep ascents, eventually rewarding us with breathtaking views from the top — the Sahyadri ranges, Koyna backwaters, Jawali forest, and the majestic Babu Kada.
We relished our packed lunch at the fort and began our descent, reaching the base by 5:00 PM. Another peaceful 1.5-hour boat ride brought us back to the campsite, where hot tea awaited us. By 6:30 PM, we started our return journey to Pune, carrying beautiful memories from a truly unforgettable adventure.
