Raja Sankranti... Raja is a unique festival of Odisha,India. It is celebrated for 3 days continuously. Young girls wear new clothes and put Alaktaka in their feet on the occasion. Swings(dolies or dolas )are put into action for these three days.It is believed that Prithivi or the Earth gets Her menstrual cycle in these three days once in a year and it has to be celebrated by ladies.The Raja Mauja ( Raja festival ) is incomplete without special songs. The poda-peetha or the baked cake is unique food for these three days which is relished by one .

"KUNTROO WATERFALL" / "GAGHA WATERFALL"

Located in gailo village of Deogarh district. You will find this beauty 85km from Sambalpur, from Cuttack it is 236km, and from Deogarh 22km it is.

The waterfall's location you can easily get from Google Map and Google Earth.
From Gailo village approximately 5km you will go through the typical village sceneries. I must say this trip is not less than a trekking. So guyz don't prefer a 4 wheeler do ride on a 2 wheeler and enjoy the scenery. And 1.5km will have to do off roading another 1.5km you guyz will trek in jungle with the mesmerizing trickels of the surprisingly caved stream water. And the main thing there will be no Network at the spot. May b you can find BSNL network available.

Must say the most friendly Gailo village's people you will found who will es**rt you to the beauty.

And I can assure that the most idiosyncratic waterfall you will imaged.
Because the waterfall is completely hidden behind the beauteous cave.
You have to face a hindrance of large stone fence.

So finally as describing my experience for the tremendously speechless
Waterfall with all of you.i"ll must say this is the waterfall covered by a cave you will discover in Odisha.

SIKHARACHANDI TEMPLE

The temple is situated on Sikharachandi Hill near Chandaka Industrial Estate, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.

On top of the hill, there are some large elephant rocks where one can spend some time sitting there under a large number of trees. This place is good for hangout with friends and family also.

The Sikharchandi Hill covers around 250 acres and Maa six-handed Devi Sikharachandi is worshiping being there.

According to the legends of Ramayan, Lord Sriram with Laxman and Devi Sita came to this place to live during his Banabasa. Laxman used to worship Maa Durga here and Gajapati Mukundadeva rediscovered this place and then people are worshiping here.

A peaceful place for site seeing and trekking.
A great picnic spot for family and friends.
