This is what Uttarakhand looks like.

At 3 AM, after a late night pickup of our guests from Rishikesh Bus Station. We were heading back to dehradun to call it day - when we spotted something magical. A family of elephants calmly crossing the highway.

We stayed calmly, stopped and let them cross.

This is the beauty of Uttarakhand — where the highway still doubles as a habitat for such gentle giants.
