Uttarakhand Foundation Day

Uttarakhand is an exceptionally beautiful state in northern India, also known as "Devbhoomi" or "Land of the Gods."
On November 9, 2000, Uttarakhand became the 27th state of India on after being carved out of Uttar Pradesh, and this day is celebrated as Uttarakhand Foundation Day. Geographically, Uttarakhand is uniquely positioned, bordered by Tibet in the north, Nepal in the east, Himachal Pradesh to the west, and Uttar Pradesh to the south. Earlier, this region was called Uttaranchal, but in 2007, the state’s name was officially changed to Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand is renowned worldwide for its natural beauty and is the source of India’s holy rivers, Ganga and Yamuna. The state also holds immense religious significance with sacred sites like Kedarnath and Badrinath. Uttarakhand comprises a total of 13 districts, including Bageshwar, Champawat, Chamoli, Almora, Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, and Nainital.
