North Sikkim Travel Update | Lachen & Gurudongmar Route Reopened 🏔️

Great news for all mountain lovers! The road towards Lachen and the beautiful Gurudongmar Lake is now open again. After a lot of hard work by the Government of Sikkim and local authorities, connectivity to North Sikkim has been restored and travel will gradually resume.

At the same time, the Lachen Dzumsa (local administrative body) has advised a few new stay guidelines for tourists visiting the region to ensure a safe and comfortable journey
📍 Updated Stay Guidelines for North Sikkim:
✔ Lachen & Gurudongmar Lake Tour: Minimum 2 Nights / 3 Days
✔ Lachen + Lachung + Gurudongmar Tour: Minimum 3 Nights / 4 Days

These changes are mainly for better acclimatization, safer travel on mountain roads, and a more relaxed experience in high altitude areas. Instead of rushing, travelers will now have more time to enjoy the natural beauty and local culture of North Sikkim.

English New Year সামনে।
কিন্তু Darjeeling ও Sikkim-এর পাহাড়ি সমাজে নতুন বছর শুধু একদিন বা এক মাসে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়।
প্রতিটি জাতির আছে তাদের নিজস্ব সময়, নিয়ম ও সংস্কৃতি।

নিচে সংক্ষেপে তুলে ধরা হল পাহাড়ের বিভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের New Year:

🔹 লেপচা (Lepcha)
নতুন বছর: প্রকৃতি-নির্ভর (নির্দিষ্ট তারিখ নেই)
সময়: ঋতুচক্র ও চাষাবাদের উপর নির্ভরশীল
রীতি ও সংস্কৃতি:
• পাহাড়, নদী ও প্রকৃতির প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা
• শান্ত প্রার্থনা ও পারিবারিক মিলন
• সরল জীবন ও প্রকৃতির সাথে সামঞ্জস্য

🔹 লিম্বু (Limbu) – চাসোক তাংনাম
নতুন বছর: Chasok Tangnam
মাস: নভেম্বর – ডিসেম্বর
রীতি ও সংস্কৃতি:
• নতুন ফসল ওঠার পর উৎসব
• ঐতিহ্যবাহী নাচ ও গান
• পূর্বপুরুষকে স্মরণ ও সম্মান

🔹 তামাং (Tamang) – লোসার
নতুন বছর: Tamang Losar
মাস: জানুয়ারি – ফেব্রুয়ারি
রীতি ও সংস্কৃতি:
• গোম্পায় বৌদ্ধ প্রার্থনা
• প্রদীপ প্রজ্বালন
• খাপসে, সেলরোটি ও উৎসবের খাবার

🔹 শেরপা (Sherpa) – লোসার
নতুন বছর: Losar
মাস: ফেব্রুয়ারি
রীতি ও সংস্কৃতি:
• বৌদ্ধ মঠে বিশেষ পূজা
• মুখোশ নৃত্য ও ধর্মীয় আচার
• পুরোনো কষ্ট ভুলে নতুনভাবে শুরু

🔹 ভুটিয়া (Bhutia) – লোসার
নতুন বছর: Losar
মাস: ফেব্রুয়ারি – মার্চ
রীতি ও সংস্কৃতি:
• মঠে বিশেষ প্রার্থনা
• নতুন ঐতিহ্যবাহী পোশাক
• পরিবার ও সমাজের সাথে উদযাপন

🔹 নেপালি সম্প্রদায় – বৈশাখী নববর্ষ
নতুন বছর: বৈশাখ
মাস: এপ্রিল
রীতি ও সংস্কৃতি:
• নতুন কাজ ও নতুন হিসাবের সূচনা
• মন্দির দর্শন
• মিষ্টিমুখ ও পারিবারিক ভোজ
