As one of the activities during the Monolith Festival 2024 Monolith Festival, Ecologist & Birder, Mr. Ezra Rynjah organized a one day session on Birdwatching on the 9th March 2024. The session was attended by the Members of TGAM, local guides from various regions of the state, students and local guides. It was an informative & meaningful session since we lack skilled birding guides in the state. Talks by the esteemed Dr. Arpit Deomurari & Mr. Gaurav Kataria was an eye opening to all the attendees. We have learnt that Birding is a tourism product that Meghalaya has huge potential as the region is untapped in this field and through this activity it will generate employment especially to the local guides. This will also create a sustainable approach towards conservation of flora and fauna in the state. TGAM would like to thank Bah Alan West Kharkongor for approaching the association for this wonderful initiative, Mr. Ezra Rynjah for the wonderful opportunity having Dr. Arpit Deomurari & Mr. Gaurav Kataria as key speakers. We also thank the President Ialamphang Lyngdoh, V. President Gilbert Khongsit & General Secretary Gerald Samuel Pinocchio Duia TGAM for making this event a successful one.

The Tour Guides Association of Meghalaya (TGAM), Central Body today the 16th September 2023 in the presence of the President TGAM Central Body, Mr. Lyngdoh, General Secretary TGAM Central Body, Mr. Samuel Duia and Executive Members of the TGAM Central Body have inducted new members and have formed the *Tour Guides Association of Meghalaya - Sohra Unit* under the leadership of Mr. Khongsit, President TGAM Sohra Unit, Mr. Banehskhem Diengdoh, General Secretary TGAM Sohra Unit, and Mr. Dappura Chyne, Treasurer TGAM Sohra Unit. Looking at the rise in the tourism sector in the state especially in Sohra region, the TGAM Central Body has took a new step in ensuring that all tourism activities should be mechanised in a systematic manner where it'll ease the visitors of the state in availing professional tour guide services at the same time safeguarding the interests and livelihood that the guides will earn through these services. The association will be forming new units at various locations where tourism has picked up. The association also welcomes application for membership of any individual involving in Tour Guiding activities or similar, this will bring all the tour guides under one umbrella to share a profound and united manner of uplifting and working with each other in the tourism industry of the state. This will enhance and give a meaningful experience to the visitors of the state in various ways than just mere sightseeing if local guides are present. The Central Body wishes the newly formed Sohra Unit the very best in this new chapter and will work together in various aspects.

The members of the Tour Guides Association of Meghalaya (TGAM), Bah Ialamphang Lyngdoh , President, Bah Gerald Samuel Pinocchio Duia , General Secretary & Bah E. B. Blah, Advisor, yesterday the 6th July 2023, met the Chief Executive Member, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), pertaining to various issues faced by our Tour Guides, Transporters and Other tourism stakeholders. We are grateful for his prompt response in meeting us. We had a fruitful discussion, we look forward to strengthening our tourism industry in the state and ensure that each and every tourism stakeholder benefit from the Tourism Resources of our beloved land, meanwhile, also keeping in mind and ensuring that everything is regulated. We will not sit and wait, we will be doing many tasks and checks and we will make sure everything is in place. We request the citizens of the state to support us on this move. - registration is open from *12 March & close at 14 April*.
- children below 12yrs won't be allowed, Rs. 300/- for children 12yrs above till 18yrs of age.
- trek briefing at 07:am sharp
- trek will start at 08:am sharp, participants are requested to reach the venue before time.

- no transportation or whatsoever will be provided by the organizers, participants are to arrange and bear own transportation charges.

- carry extra clothes for change.
