🏔️ SHILLONG PEAK – HISTORY & LEGEND 🌿

Shillong Peak, standing at around 1,965 metres (6,449 ft), is the highest point in Meghalaya and is located about 10 km from Shillong city.

According to Khasi tradition, the peak has deep spiritual significance. It is associated with U Shulong / Lei Shyllong, a revered deity believed to protect the region. A sacred ritual is held here every spring, making Shillong Peak an important part of Khasi culture and heritage.

From the viewpoint, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Shillong city, surrounding hills, waterfalls and the plains of Bangladesh.
