Pin Valley National Park is located in the cold desert area of Spiti Sub-Division of Lahaul & Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh. The park covering an area of 675 sq km as core zone and 1150 km as buffer zone.The intention to constitute Pin Valley as a National Park was declared in the year 1987. India's highest cold valley National Park, this place was constructed to preserve the unique natural flora and fauna of Himachal Pradesh and is named after the gorgeous Pin River and acts as an interface between the Lahul and Spiti Valley. Against a backdrop of barbarous, rugged snow-covered mountain peaks of the Spiti Valley, the national park is home to Himachal's ferocious predators, the snow leopards, and their prey, the ibex.

Gue is a village in the Lahul and Spiti district of the state of Himachal Pradesh in India . When we reached Gue, I was completely surprised. What we found there inside a glass case was a naturally preserved dead body, not wrapped in any bandage, completely dried up and the eyes, teeth and hair on its head still intact. His fist was around one leg and chin resting on his knee. The Mummy of Gue village is believed to be around 600 years old, which was discovered here from a Stupa after the earth quake in 1975, while the Indo Tibet Border Force was clearing the area and building the road.

Chitkul is a small village in Kinnaur district located near Indo-China border, and the last place where Indian roads reach. Located at an elevation of 3450 meters, the place is covered with heavy snow during winters. The village is situated on the banks of Baspa River which is a tributary of Sutlej. Chitkul is the last point Kinner Kailash Parikrama. Chikul is accessible via Charang Pass which is located at a height of about 5200 meters. Chitkul is famous for Rakcham Chitkul Sanctuary which is located at a height of 5000 meters and falls in between Sangla Valley and Chitkul. The Sanctuary is spread over an area of 34 km^2, and is home to Leopard, Blue Sheep, Goral, Musk Deer, Himalayan and Black Bear. Some other famous places in Chitkul are Kagyupa Temple which hosts an idol of Shakyamuni Buddha, and Mathi Temple, dedicated to goddess Shri Mathi.

The most important sight in Spiti Valley is the Tabo Monastery – Famous as the Ajanta of the Himalayas. Tabo is a paradise; with the glorious heritage, traditions and culture of Buddhism preserved through the centuries. Tabo monastery, founded in 996 A.D., is the hidden Gem of Spiti Valley. The Tabo monastery compound have 9 chapels and the 32 life size clay sculptures in the main Assembly hall are the major highlights to experience. It is the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monument in the World and the Himalayas with its original decorations, iconographic and wall paintings.
