The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has achieved a landmark engineering milestone with the construction of the world’s highest motorable road at Mig La Pass in eastern Ladakh. Situated at an altitude of 19,400 feet near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the road surpasses the BRO’s own record at Umling La, built in 2021 at 19,024 feet.
The milestone is created under Project Himank, with the team led by Brigadier Vishal Srivastava. To mark the occasion, the National Flag and the BRO flag were proudly hoisted at the site.
Beyond its defence value, the development is expected to enhance Ladakh’s tourism appeal, offering travellers stunning views of the Indus Valley and connecting Hanle to Fukche village.
