Goa is seeing more tourists every year. In 2025, over 1 crore domestic tourists and more than 5 lakh international tourists visited the state. This growth has continued in 2026 as well. In just the first seven months of 2026, Goa received more than 61 lakh visitors. The Goa government now wants to promote Goa as a place that people can visit throughout the year not just for its beaches but for Goaโ€™s monsoon season, villages, heritage sites, culture, nature, rivers and local experiences.

According to the government, tourism plays a major role in Goaโ€™s economy and contributes around 16.43 percent to the stateโ€™s GDP. Tourism also supports many other sectors, including hotels, restaurants, transport, travel services, shops, handicrafts and events. It also provides income to many local people. At the same time the government has also said that the growing number of tourists can put pressure on Goaโ€™s infrastructure, natural resources and local communities. To deal with this, the government is promoting its โ€œGoa Beyond Beachesโ€ approach. The idea is to encourage tourists to visit the hinterland and other parts of the state instead of staying mainly in the traditional coastal tourist areas.

Thailand has updated its entry rules for Indian travellers from September 15, 2026. Now, Indian ordinary passport holders travelling to Thailand for tourism and travel can enter without a visa and they can now stay for up to 30 days. Earlier, Indian travellers were allowed to stay for up to 60 days under the visa free rule which was introduced in 2024.

If planning a trip to Thailand, there are a few important things needed to keep in mind. First, travelers passport should be valid for at least six months from the date they arrive in Thailand. If your passport is close to expiring then it is better to renew it before the trip. Travellers should also need carry at least THB 20,000 in cash per person, which is around 57,899 in Indian Rupees. This is the financial requirement mentioned for travellers entering Thailand under the visa exemption scheme. Travellers need to have a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Make sure you have your hotel booking or other proof of accommodation as well. It is a good idea to keep these documents saved on your phone so you can easily show them if asked. One important thing to remember when travelling to Thailand is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). Visitors need to complete it online within 72 hours before arriving in Thailand. So, make sure you fill it out before your flight to avoid any last minute hassle.

The Uttar Pradesh government has started a new campaign called โ€œVisit My Stateโ€ Uttar Pradesh to encourage young people to promote their own cities and hometowns. Under this campaign, Uttar Pradesh Tourism has invited young content creators to make a 60 second reel showing what makes their city special. The reel can be made in Hindi or English and should not be longer than 60 seconds. At the end, participants must say, โ€˜Visit My State Uttar Pradeshโ€™. Their face and voice should be clearly visible and audible. The video must be recorded outdoors with a famous landmark or a recognisable tourist place in the background. The idea is to let local people tell the stories of their own places in a simple and personal way.

UP State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) chairman Amrit Abhijat said, "The campaign places residents at the centre of destination storytelling. A 60 second reel can bring together a place, a personal voice and a local experience. A popular landmark can be presented through a fresh perspective, while local destinations can gain wider visibility."

Indian passport holders will soon be able to visit Uzbekistan without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. The Goa government has officially started the Ekadasha Teertha Yatra, an 11-temple spiritual tour designed to showcase the stateโ€™s religious and cultural heritage. The first tour was organised and began at the Shree Mahadev Temple in Tambdi Surla. A total of 27 women took part in the first trip and visited four important temples in North Goa in one day. The tour included Shree Mahadev Temple at Tambdi Surla, Shree Devkikrishna Devasthan at Marcel, Shree Mahaganapati Devasthan at Khandola and Shree Anant Devasthan at Savoi Verem.

As part of the initiative the Goa Tourism Department is offering senior citizens a 50 per cent discount on tickets for the 11 temple circuit. The main aim of the initiative is to help people discover Goaโ€™s spiritual and cultural side. The government also wants tourists to explore places beyond the stateโ€™s well known beaches and learn more about its old temples, traditions and religious practices.

Air India has started its Easy Connect service in Ahmedabad to make international travel easier for passengers from Gujarat. With this service, passengers can check in for their entire journey and complete immigration at Ahmedabad Airport itself. When travellers reach Delhi, they can directly board their international flight without collecting their baggage again or changing terminals. Ahmedabad is now the third city to have this service, after Amritsar and Varanasi. The Easy Connect service is part of the Government of Indiaโ€™s hub-and-spoke plan, which aims to improve air connectivity through major airports in the country. Indian passport holders travelling internationally through this service must enrol in DigiYatra. However, web check-in and Customs declaration are not available at the spoke airports.

Air India has selected two daily flights between Ahmedabad and Delhi for its Easy Connect service. The first flight, AI1121, will fly from Ahmedabad at 8:15 PM and reach Delhi at 10:00 PM. This service started on September 1, 2026. The second flight, AI1117, will leave Ahmedabad at 8:25 AM and reach Delhi at 10:15 AM. It started on September 2, 2026. These flights will help passengers from Ahmedabad connect to 26 international destinations within four hours of reaching Delhi. The destinations include countries in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Asia-Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Gulf region.
