1967.....Life on water.

Water constitutes a major part of the valley in the form of lakes, canals, rivers etc. Historically, life on water prospered to support transportation of people and important life sustaining edibles. Consequently, an entire community thrived on the waters of the valley. The boatmen community represents simplicity and emancipation which remain integral to Kashmiri ethos. The life on water occupies a prime space in attracting the tourists via boat rides and houseboat stays having an alluring quality for the visitors. Even today the choicest vegetables come from the water gardens having different taste and aroma. Water plays an important part in the valley culture even today.
