Parshuram Kund(परशुराम कुंड) is a Hindu pilgrimage centre situated on the Brahmaputra plateau in the lower reaches of the Lohit River and 21 km north of Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. Dedicated to sage Parshuram, the popular site attracts pilgrims from Nepal, from across India, and from nearby states of Manipur and Assam. Over 70,000 devotees and sadhus take a holy dip in its water each year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, in the month of January.
The site of the Parashuram Kund as established by the sadhu was in existence until the 1950 Assam earthquake that shook the whole of the North-East and the kund was completely covered. A very strong current is now flowing over the original site of the kund but massive boulders have in a mysterious way embedded themselves in a circular formation in the river bed thus forming another kund in place of the old.

Mayadevi temple is located off Vyara-Ahwa road at a small village called Kakarda near village Bheskatri. This Hindu temple is dedicated to goddess Maya, the three-headed and four-armed deity believed to be an incarnation of Shakti. It is located on the banks of the river Purna.

Originating in the hills of the Salher, Purna passes through Chinchli, Mahal, Kalibel and leaves the District near Bheskatri, flows through Tapi District and meets Arabian Sea near Navsari.

The home of the goddess Mayadevi is in a cave buried in the river bed of Purna and is not accessible during the monsoons when Purna is full of life. During monsoons, the main temple complex is used for worshipping the goddess. There are concrete steps on the side of the temple complex descending to the rocks that form the river bed. There are steps on the river bed descending to a rock platform built on a pond that leads the devotees into the cave. The stalactite and stalagmite rock formations in the cave also offer pleasant viewing for the devotees. This temple is choc-a-block during Shivratri. Adjacent to the main temple is a shrine containing the Hindu god Hanuman.

Kamakhya Temple: Story Of A Bleeding Devi
-Kamakhya temple is a famous pilgrimage situated at Guwahati, Assam. The temple is located on the Nilachal hill in Guwahati at about 8 kms from the railway station. The Kamakhya temple is dedicated to the ta***ic goddesses. Apart from the deity Kamakhya Devi, compound of the temple houses 10 other avatars of Kali namely Dhumavati, Matangi, Bagola, Tara, Kamala, Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, Bhuvaneshwari and Tripuara Sundari.

Mythical History:
The temple of Kamakhya has a very interesting story of its origin. It is one of the 108 Shakti peeths. The story of the Shakti peeths goes like this; once Sati fought with her husband Shiva to attend her father's great yagna. At the grand yagna, Sati's father Daksha insulted her husband. Sati was angered and in her shame, she jumped into the fire and killed herself. When Shiva came to know that his beloved wife had committed su***de, he went insane with rage. He placed Sati's dead body on his shoulders and did the tandav or dance of destruction.
To calm him down, Vishnu cut the dead body with his chakra. The 108 places where Sati's body parts fell are called Shakti peeths. Kamakhya temple is special because Sati's womb and va**na fell here.

The Name 'Kamakhya':
The God of love, Kamadeva had lost his virility due to a curse. He sought out the Shakti's womb and ge****ls and was freed from the curse. This is where 'love' gained his potency and thus, the deity 'Kamakhya' devi was installed and worshipped here.
Some people also believe that the Kamakhya temple is a place where Shiva and devi Sati had their romantic encounters. As the Sanskrit word for lo******ng is 'k**a', the place was named Kamakhya.
The Bleeding Goddess:
Kamakhya devi is famous as the bleeding goddess. The mythical womb and va**na of Shakti are supposedly installed in the 'Garvagriha' or sanctum of the temple. In the month of Ashaad (June), the goddess bleeds or menstruates. At this time, the Brahmaputra river near Kamakhya turns red. The temple then remains closed for 3 days and holy water is distributed among the devotees of Kamakhya devi.
There is no scientific proof that the blood actually turns the river red. Some people say that the priests pour vermilion into the waters. But symbolically, menstruation is the symbol of a woman's creativity and power to give birth. So, the deity and temple of Kamakhya celebrates this 'shakti' or power within every woman.

शिकारी देवी मंदिर बर्फ से ढके हुए पहाड़ों और घने पाइन के पेड़ के बीच स्थित है। हिमाचल के मंडी में 2850 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर बना शिकारी देवी मंदिर आज भी लोगों के लिए रहस्य बना हुआ है। आज तक कोई भी शख्स इस मंदिर की छत नहीं लगवा पाया।

किंवदंतियों के अनुसार, मंदिर को पांडवों के समय से अस्तित्व में माना जाता है। लोग यह भी कहते हैं कि मंदिर के शीर्ष पर कोई बर्फबारी नहीं होगी।महाभारत के बाद से मंदिर के निशान देख सकते हैं, और पवित्र किताब में भी इसका उल्लेख किया गया है, मार्कंद्य पुराण। यह भी कहा गया है कि ऋषि मार्कंडाय ने इस जगह पर बहुत लंबे समय तक ध्यान किया। यहां हर साल नवरात्रि के दिन मेले आयोजित किए जाते हैं, जो पूरे विश्व में बड़ी संख्या में भक्तों को आकर्षित करता है।शिकारी देवी का मंदिर की स्थापना कैसे हुई इसके बारे में एक कथा प्रचलित है । कहा जाता है कि जब पांडवो और कौरवो के बीच में जुए का खेल चल रहा था तब एक औरत ने उनको मना किया उसको खेलने से पर होनी को टाला नही जा सका और जुआ खेलने के फलस्वरूप पांडवो को अपना महल और राजपाट छोडकर निर्वासित होना पडा ।

जब पांडव अपना वनवास काट रहे तो वो इस क्षेत्र में आये और कुछ समय यहां पर रहे । एक दिन अर्जुन एवं अन्य भाईयो ने एक सुंदर मृग देखा तो उन्होने उसका शिकार करना चाहा पर वो मृग काफी पीछा करने के बाद भी उनके हाथ नही आया ।

सारे पांडव उस मृग की चर्चा करने लगे कि वो मृग कहीं मायावी तो नही था कि तभी आकाशवाणी हुई कि मै इस पर्वत पर वास करने वाली शक्ति हूं और मैने पहले भी तुम्हे जुआ खेलते समय सावधान किया था पर तुम नही माने और इसीलिये आज वनवास भोग रहे हो । इस पर पांडवो ने उनसे क्षमा प्रार्थना की तो देवी ने उन्हे बताया कि मै इसी पर्वत पर नवदुर्गा के रूप में विराजमान हूं और यदि तुम मेरी प्रतिमा को निकालकर उसकी स्थापना करोगे तो तुम अपना राज्य पुन पा जाओगे ।

पांडवो ने ऐसा ही किया और उन्हे नवदुर्गा की प्र​तिमा मिली जिसे पांडवो ने पूरे विधि विधान से स्थापित किया । चूंकि माता मायावी मृग के शिकार के रूप में मिली थी इसलिये माता का नाम शिकारी देवी कहा गया ।

क्या है मान्यता

मान्यता है कि आंखों में कोई बीमारी होने पर अगर शिकारी माता को बनावटी आंख चढाई जाए तो आंखों की बीमारी ठीक हो जाती है। लाखों लोग हर साल आखें ठीक होने पर शिकारी माता मंदिर में चांदी की आखें चढ़ाते हैं।

शिकारी माता मंदिर का इतिहास –

मार्कण्डेय ऋषि ने मंदिर वाली जगह पर वर्षो तक माँ दुर्गा की तपश्या करी तथा माँ दुर्गा ने उनके तप से
प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें शक्ति के रूप में दर्शन दिया व यहा स्थापित हुई|

इसके बाद पांडव अपने अज्ञातवास के समय यहा आये थे तथा उन्होंने शक्ति रूप में विध्यमान माता की तपश्या करी जिस से प्रसन्न होकर माता ने उन्हें महाभारत के युद्ध में कौरवो से विजयी प्राप्त करने का आशीर्वाद दिया. पांडव ने यहा से जाते वक्त माँ के मंदिर का निर्माण किया परन्तु यह कोई भी जानता की आखिर इस मंदिर के छत का निर्माण पांडवो द्वारा क्यों नही किया गया
