Talatal ghar: It was built by Ahom king 'Swargadeo Rajeswar Singha' in 1751 CE. The structure is an architectural wonder, more about that in next post.
This post is about eight beautiful cast iron cannons on display at tbe entrance of Talatal Ghar. The cannons have intricate carvings on them along with symbol of the ruler. Each cannon has shape of one body part of an Elephant. There is Elephant Head cannon, Elephant Neck cannon and Elephant Foot cannon. @ Talatol Ghor

Rang ghar: Said to be one of the oldest surviving amphitheaters in Asia, the building was constructed by Ahom kings between 1744-1750 at Shivasagar in state of Assam.
Many of the arched entrances have retained little more than their brick framework, with sculptural adornments here and there The Ahoms, who used special, thin, baked bricks, did not use cement but a paste of rice and eggs as mortar for their construction. They also made use of powdered mixed lime and bricks to cover the surface of the inner walls. It is said that this layer of powder used to keep the inside of the Rang Ghar cool.
