[ADEX INDIA - MUMBAI DIVE SHOW: DAY 3]
-
Jackson Peter, co founder of Planet Ocean Foundation explains and talks about adventure tourism in a India. Adventure tourism includes hiking, trekking, and of course, scuba diving.
Adventure tourism may provide more benefit to the country’s local economy than mainstream tourism, but it’s challenges need to be overcome- such as lack of unity in local regulations and guidelines. ”I propose creating a Dive Travel & Trade Association of India,” Peter says, to combat the issue.
Another challenge is the huge taxation imposed. To this he proposes: “Bring diving training under the “education” category which, in turn, will omit its tax impositions .”
Peter also talks about strategies to enter the large Chinese market, and recommends G2G, B2B, B2C, and BCR (Be China Ready) ideas.
