********താമരശ്ശേരി ചുരം********
കോഴിക്കോടിനെ വയനാടുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മലമ്പാതയാണ്‌ താമരശ്ശേരി ചുരം. ഇതു ദേശീയപാത 212-ന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. താമരശ്ശേരിക്കടുത്ത് അടിവാരത്തുനിന്ന് തുടങ്ങുന്ന 12 കിലോമീറ്ററോളം ദൈർഘ്യമുള്ള ഈ വഴിയിൽ ഒമ്പത് ഹെയർപിൻ വളവുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ഈ പാത അവസാനിക്കുന്ന വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ലക്കിടിയിൽ എത്തുമ്പോഴെക്ക് സമുദ്ര നിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 700 മീറ്റർ മുകളിൽ എത്തും. പാതയ്ക്ക് ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലും ഉള്ള ഇടതൂർന്ന വനം വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നു. കുതിരസവാരി ചെയ്ത് വയനാട്ടിലെത്താൻ പാകത്തിൽ നിർമിച്ച ഈ പാത പിൽകാലത്തു വാഹനഗതാഗതത്തിനുള്ള പാതയായി മാറുകയായിരുന്നു.
ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരാണ് വയനാട് ചുരം പാത നിർമ്മിച്ചത്. ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് എഞ്ചിനിയർക്ക് ഈ വഴി കാണിച്ച് കൊടുത്തത് തദ്ദേശീയരായ ആദിവാസികളായിരുന്നു. വഴി കാണിച്ചു കൊടുത്ത കരിന്തണ്ടൻ എന്ന ആദിവാസിയെ ഈ കണ്ടുപിടിത്തത്തിന്റെ ഖ്യാതി സ്വന്തമാക്കുവാനായി ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് എഞ്ചിനിയർ കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഈ ആദിവാസിയുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ ബന്ധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ചങ്ങല മരം ലക്കിടിയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു

Kodikuthimala also known as the Ooty of Malappuram is a hill station in the Malappuram district of Kerala in India. Located in Vettathur and Thazhekode villages, at a height of 522 m above sea level, this is the highest geographic peak in Amminikkadan hills .The idyllic setting of this hilly area is truly fascinating. Ever-flowing springs, waterfalls, a watchtower and the Su***de Point are the main attractions here.

Thusharagiri Waterfalls, Kozhikode
As the name suggests, land and water have struck an extraordinary kinship at Thusharagiri (mist capped peaks). The plantation destination that abounds in rubber, arecanut, pepper, ginger and spices, is also a trekkers delight. Trekkers start early morning from the second waterfall on the hills and climb up through the pristine dense evergreen forests teeming with exotic birds and animals to reach Vythiri in Wayanad district by evening.
