बांधवगढ़ टाइगर रिजर्व के अंतर्गत बहुत बड़ी दुखद खबर है
बी॰टी॰आर॰ के ताला परिक्षेत्र के कथली बीट में आज सुबह पट्रोलिंग दल द्वारा लगभग ९ बजे एक नर बाघ द्वारा २ बाघ शावकों को मारे जाने की सूचना दी गई । मौक़े पर परिक्षेत्र अधिकारी ताला द्वारा प्रारम्भिक जाँच की गई जिसमें नर बाघ , मादा बाघ एवं डोनो शावकों के होने के प्रमाण मिले । डोनो शावकों का शव परीक्षण और अंतिम संस्कार डॉक्टर. अखिलेश एवं डॉक्टर. कीर्ति गोयल द्वारा किया गया जहाँ क्षेत्र संचालक BTR श्री विन्सेंट रहीम , उप संचालक श्री सिद्धार्थ गुप्ता , NTCA प्रतिनिधि श्री सत्येंद्र तिवारी भी उपस्थित रहे । शव परीक्षण में नर बाघ द्वारा डोनो शावकों को मारे जाने की पुष्टि हुई एवं दोनो शावकों की उम्र लगभग 15-20 दिन पाई गयी । नर बाघ द्वारा दूसरे नर बाघ के शावकों को मारना उनके प्राकृतिक व्यवहार एवं क्षेत्र (territory) स्थापित करने की प्रक्रिया का हिस्सा है ।
