Mukhba is a beautiful village in the Himalayan region of Uttarkashi district.

Which is situated near the Harsil Valley, This village is situated at an altitude of about 2600 meters above sea level.

Every year on the next day of Diwali festival (Annakoot Festival). The gates of Gangotri Dham are closed,

And after that the idol of Mother Ganga is brought down in the temple of Mukhba village.

The Mythological name of this village is "Mukhimath" Which means the Main Monastery of Mother Ganga.

Now devotees can also visit Mukhba in winter.
