യുഎൻ ആസ്ഥാനത്ത് വിജയമാതൃക അവതരിപ്പിച്ച് ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റി 💫
ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭാ ആസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഊരാളുങ്കൽ ലേബർ കോൺട്രാക്റ്റ് കോ-ഓപ്പറേറ്റീവ് സൊസൈറ്റി(ULCCS)യുടെ അനുഭവാവതരണം. ‘സഹകരണധനകാര്യസ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ’ എന്ന വിഷയത്തിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച ദ്വിദിനസിമ്പോസിയത്തിലാണ് ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റിയുടെ മാതൃക അവതരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റ് ഓഫ് ഇക്കണോമിക് ആൻഡ് സോഷ്യൽ അഫയേഴ്സ് (UN DESA), ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ കോ-ഓപ്പറേറ്റീവ് ബാങ്കിങ് അസോസിയേഷൻ (ICBA), ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ കോ-ഓപ്പറേറ്റീവ് അലയൻസ് (ICA) എന്നിവ ചേർന്നാണ് സിമ്പോസിയം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചത്. ‘ഉൾച്ചേർക്കുന്നതും സമത്വപൂർണ്ണവുമായ വളർച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഊർജ്ജം പകരാൻ’ എന്നതായിരുന്നു ശീർഷകം.
ന്യൂയോർക്കിലെ ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭാ ആസ്ഥാനത്തു നടന്ന സിമ്പോസിയത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യദിനത്തിൽ ‘സമ്പ്രദായങ്ങൾ – സഹകരണസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ പരസ്പരസഹകരണവും ധനലഭ്യതയും’ എന്ന വട്ടമേശസമ്മേളനത്തിലായിരുന്നു അവതരണം. പാനലിസ്റ്റായി ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റി ചീഫ് പ്രോജക്ട് കോ-ഓർഡിനേറ്ററും ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ കോ-ഓപ്പറേറ്റീവ് അലയൻസ് – ഏഷ്യ ആൻഡ് പസഫിക്കി(ICA-AP)ന്റെ കമ്മിറ്റി ഓൺ അഗ്രികൾച്ചർ ആൻഡ് എൻവയോൺമെന്റ് (ICAE) വൈസ് ചെയർപേഴ്സണുമായ കിഷോർ കുമാർ ടി. കെ. ആണ് അവതരണം നടത്തിയത്. ഊരാളുങ്കലിന്റെ സഹകരണവികസനമാതൃക പഠിക്കാനും പ്രാദേശികസാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ പകർത്താനും നിരവധി രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുള്ള പ്രതിനിധികൾ താൽപ്പര്യം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു.
സഹകരണസംഘങ്ങളുടെ പരസ്പരസഹകരണത്തിലൂടെ ധനസമാഹരണവും കൂട്ടായ വളർച്ചയും സാദ്ധ്യമാക്കാൻ ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റി വികസിപ്പിച്ച മാതൃക കിഷോർ കുമാർ വിവരിച്ചു. ഈ മാതൃകയെ ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ വികസനപരിപാടി (UNDP) 2013-ൽത്തന്നെ പഠിക്കുകയും അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ മാതൃകാസഹകരണസംഘമായി ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റിയെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയും ആഗോളമാതൃക എന്നനിലയിൽ അവർ ഡോക്യുമെന്റ് ചെയ്ത് ലോകമാകെ പ്രദർശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതാണ്. ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ സിമ്പോസിയത്തിലെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ക്ഷണം ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റിയുടെ സുസ്ഥിരവും ജനാധിപത്യപൂർണ്ണവും ജനകേന്ദ്രിതവുമായ വികസനമാതൃകയുടെ വർദ്ധിച്ചുവരുന്ന അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര അംഗീകാരത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഫലനമായി.
പ്രാദേശികസാമ്പത്തികവികസനത്തിൽ സഹകരണപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ, വികേന്ദ്രീകൃതവികസനം, സാമൂഹിക ഉടമസ്ഥത, സഹകരണകൺസോർഷ്യം വഴിയുള്ള ധനസമാഹരണം എന്നിവയ്ക്കുള്ള പ്രാധാന്യവും കിഷോർ കുമാർ ഊന്നിപ്പറഞ്ഞു. ഓരോ വെല്ലുവിളിയെയും സമഗ്രവളർച്ചയ്ക്കും തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാനുമുള്ള അവസരങ്ങളാക്കി മാറ്റിക്കൊണ്ട് സാമൂഹിക, സാമ്പത്തിക, ആഗോള, പരിവർത്തനങ്ങളോട് യുഎൽസിസിഎസ് വിജയകരമായി പ്രതികരിച്ച അനുഭവങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം പങ്കുവച്ചു. നിർമ്മാണക്കരാർസംഘം ആയിരുന്ന സൊസൈറ്റി, സഹകരണമേഖലയിലെ വൈവിദ്ധ്യവത്ക്കരണസാദ്ധ്യതകൾ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തി ഐടി, ടൂറിസം, നൈപുണ്യവികസനം, ആർട്സ് & ക്രാഫ്റ്റ്സ്, നൂതനസാങ്കേതികവിദ്യാസ്വീകരണം തുടങ്ങിയ മേഖലകളിലേക്കു വ്യാപിച്ചത് സദസിനു കൗതുകമായി.
യുഎൽ സൈബർപാർക്ക്, കേരള ആർട്സ് & ക്രാഫ്റ്റ്സ് വില്ലേജ്, സർഗാലയ ക്രാഫ്റ്റ് വില്ലേജ്, ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇൻഫ്രാസ്ട്രക്ചർ ആൻഡ് കൺസ്ട്രക്ഷൻ, മാറ്റർലാബ് തുടങ്ങിയ സംരംഭങ്ങൾ യുവാക്കൾ, കരകൗശലത്തൊഴിലാളികൾ, വൈദഗ്ധ്യമുള്ള തൊഴിലാളികൾ, ഗ്രാമീണസമൂഹങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങി സമൂഹത്തിലെ വിവിധവിഭാഗങ്ങൾക്കു സുസ്ഥിരമായ ഉപജീവനമാർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. സാമൂഹിക ഉൾക്കൊള്ളൽ ഉറപ്പാക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് പ്രാദേശികസമ്പദ്വ്യവസ്ഥകളെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്താൻ ധനകാര്യം, അടിസ്ഥാനസൗകര്യങ്ങൾ, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, ടൂറിസം, സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ എന്നീ മേഖലകളിൽ ഊരാളുങ്കൽ സഹകരണപങ്കാളിത്തം നേടിയതും കിഷോർ കുമാർ പങ്കുവെച്ചു.
സമഗ്രവും സുസ്ഥിരവും പ്രതിരോധശേഷിയുള്ളതുമായ സമ്പദ്വ്യവസ്ഥകൾ കെട്ടിപ്പടുക്കുന്നതിൽ സഹകരണധനകാര്യത്തിന്റെ പങ്കു ചർച്ചചെയ്യാൻ ഒരുക്കിയ സഹകരണധനകാര്യസ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ, സർക്കാരുകൾ, വികസനയേജൻസികൾ, അന്താരാഷ്ട്രസംഘടനകൾ എന്നിവയിലെ ആഗോളനേതാക്കളുടെ സംയുക്തവേദി ആയിരുന്നു സിമ്പോസിയം.
Success story of ULCCS presented at a UN Symposium in New York
The successful model of Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS Ltd.) was notably presented at the headquarters of the United Nations. Our century old co-operative which rose to the second largest co-operative in the world in the industries and utilities segment, was invited as a panellist at the International Symposium on Cooperative Financial Institutions organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA) and International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, on 28–29 May 2026.
The representation at the United Nations symposium reflects growing international recognition for the ULCCS model of sustainable, democratic and people-centred development. Representatives from several countries expressed interest in studying and adapting the ULCCS cooperative development model within their own regional contexts.
The symposium, held under the theme ‘Fuelling Inclusive and Equitable Growth,’ brought together global leaders from cooperative financial institutions, governments, development agencies and international organizations to discuss the role of cooperative finance in building inclusive, sustainable and resilient economies. Mr. Kishor Kumar T K, Chief Project Coordinator of Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS Ltd.), Kerala, and Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture and Environment (ICAE) under the International Cooperative Alliance – Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP), represented ULCCS.
During his address, Mr. Kishor Kumar highlighted how ULCCS has successfully responded to social, economic and global transformations by converting emerging challenges into opportunities for inclusive growth and employment generation. He emphasized that ULCCS, while rooted in the cooperative movement, expanded beyond conventional infrastructure activities into sectors such as Information Technology, Arts & Crafts, tourism, skill development and advanced technology adoption.
He explained that initiatives such as UL CyberPark, Kerala Arts & Crafts Village, Sargaalaya Crafts Village and the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction have created sustainable livelihood opportunities for diverse sections of society, particularly youth, artisans, skilled workers and rural communities.
Mr. Kishor Kumar also emphasized the importance of inter-cooperation, decentralized development, community ownership and cooperative consortium financing as effective models for regional economic development. He shared ULCCS experiences in mobilizing cooperative partnerships across finance, infrastructure, education, tourism and technology sectors to strengthen local economies while ensuring social inclusion.
ULCCS officials stated that this global recognition further reinforces the role of cooperatives as a powerful instruments for inclusive economic development, employment generation and community empowerment.
