Gupteshwar is a famous cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Odisha. It is located near Jeypore in the Koraput district and surrounded by dense forests and hills. Inside the cave lies a natural Shiva Linga, which is worshipped by thousands of devotees. The word Gupteshwar means “Hidden God,” as the Linga was discovered inside the cave long ago. The place becomes very crowded during the festival of Maha Shivaratri, when devotees come from faraway places. Pilgrims climb steps to reach the holy cave and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. Apart from its religious value, the place is also known for its natural beauty. The hills, waterfalls, and greenery make it a peaceful destination. Tourists and devotees enjoy the spiritual and scenic atmosphere together. Gupteshwar is truly a place where nature and divinity meet.
