Proven Trick to Buy Cheap Air Tickets
Searching for air tickets in an incognito web browser prevent airfare search engines from increasing prices on flights that you search for often.
Our colleague John ran a little experiment. This first picture (below) was taken looking for SF to Barcelona flights on regular browser for 19-June to 9-July...
and the second picture was taken for same search on a private browser (same day, same time)...
As you can see, it shows different prices for different flights. The question is, why they are showing different flights for the same search at the same time?
Interestingly, one result is not necessarily better than the other. That is, the regular browser search has 1 stop flights that are cheaper than the private browser one stop flights (comparable time/etc when I looked at them). The 2 stop flights are cheaper in the private browser but there's also one extra stop on the way there relative to the first result showing in the regular browser.
Still, why are they different at all? Given the other controlled factors, you have to assume that it's the cookies (the fact that the site knows that I've searched for this flight before, which I have many times this month).
