It looks like people are interested in history and food. This is great because Kurdistan is rich in both! We received word that we will be given permission to film in the Erbil Citadel. First inhabited around 5,000BC, the Citadel is currently under reconstruction to preserve this amazing historical location.

When preparing for your trip there are a few phrases that are great to have in case of an emergency. Here is one that I have yet to use but when the time is right I will be ready! :)

Kurdish Sorani: Seyarey balindîyekem pirr ye li marmasî

Wow, Gang! 220 likes in 7 days! To celebrate the new Page we are giving away a tea set that I picked up in Kurdistan. It serves 6 and comes with some tasty Cardamon Tea. To truly make it Kurdish you will have to provide your own kilo of sugar!

Here are the rules: Once we hit 300 we will place everyone who has liked the page in the drawing. You will receive an additional entry for every post you like or share from now to 300 likes

While we love adventure, the folks here at K.A.T. are about much more than just paragliding, hiking and white water rafting! We love Kurdistan and the Kurdish people.

It was an honor to speak at the Justice Film Circle last night. A number of people from last night have donated outdoor gear for me to take to Kurdistan next week. We will then give that gear to a dear friend that plans weekly outings to those living in Kurdistan.

If you are in the Bend, Oregon area you still have time to donate your gently loved outdoor gear. Thank you everyone!

Having the right bag/luggage can make or break a trip. I personally prefer to travel light. That's why I picked up the Osprey Farpoint 55 before my last trip to Kurdistan. Total volume is at 55 liters, this includes the detachable day pack. While it is technically to big for carry on, I have never been turned away by an airline.

I simply detach the daypack and zip up the back straps and it looks like a carry on bag. I have lived out of this bag for almost 3 weeks before. It might not be the right bag for you but I love it! Check it out here: http://goo.gl/yIj45p and http://goo.gl/FCqC1P

Free Shipping - The Osprey Farpoint 55 travel pack is built to take you to the far points of the globe, with the comfort of a long-haul pack and savvy convenience of a streamlined traveler.
