To further introduce and promote Kurdistan Regional Tourism to the travellers around the world, General Board of Tourism in Kurdistan Region participates in Dubai International Festival.

In a TV interview for KTV, Mr. Nadir Rosty, Spokes man for General Board of Tourism said “
To promote Tourism in Kurdistan Region, The General Board of Tourism participates heavily in Dubai International Exhibition. This exhibition started at 9:00 am today 5th of May and will carry on until 9th of May.”

He also added that “over two hundred personalities, companies and international press will attend the first tourism conference held on 7th of May at the Habtor Hotel for the whole day.”

He finally said The participation of the General Boards of Tourism at this famous international exhibition, has its significant affect on promoting Kurdistan Region Tourism to the wide world, especially at a time where there are so many tourism projects had already achieved ”

An Article from mbc says “In 2025 Erbil will Challenge Dubai in Development”

An article from mbc Television Group talks about Kurdistan’s development in comparison with Dubai.

Muatasam Abu Khamees mbc reporter was in Erbil during the Nawroz Celebration (21st of March) and visited many of the tourism places and explored them closely to examine its service level. The article talks about the cities economical and structural development it has gained, in addition to the building of many Sky Towers in a near future. In accordance to many developers and investor’s expectations Erbil will become the new Dubai by 2025.

The articles also talks about as to why Erbil chosen as The Arab Tourism Capital for 2014. This is despite being the safe haven in comparison to the rest of Iraq and a develop part that is a stable region in terms of security, economy and Tourism.

Bulgaria and the General Board of Tourism arrange a team to develop tourism between the tow regions

To create tourism relationship, today, a representative from Bulgaria chaired by Gracien Demetrove the Economy and Energy deputy minister and 12 members of the government and private sector representatives visited the General Board of Tourism and have warmly greeted by Mr. Mawlawi J. Wahab the head of the General Board of Tourism and a number of the managers.

Nadr Rosty, The PR Manager for General Board of Tourism said “Through the meeting, we have discussed many subjects, and to put them into practice we have decided to arrange a team of four people from both sides to develop the relationship and facilitate tourism between Kurdistan and Bulgaria. So that both sides can benefit from each other’s experience and exchange groups of travellers through travelling companies.”

Mr. Demetrove advised the Basnews, that Bulgaria General Consulate, soon will be opened in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. In addition to the recent official opening of the Kurdistan Bulagia Trade and Industrial Centre that includes a sector for Travelling and Tourism. This also becomes a factor to strengthen relationship between the two regions.

Erbil Film Festival 2014 will open with a screening of 12 Years a Slave, it has been announced.

The Steve McQueen-directed film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Solomon Northup and Dwight Henry as Uncle Abram tells the story of one man's fight for survival and freedom. In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty (personified by a malevolent slave owner, portrayed by Michael Fassbender), as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity. In the twelfth year of his unforgettable odyssey, Solomon's chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt) will forever alter his life.
