✨ Exploring Babylon with Canadian Archaeologists ✨
Today I had the honor of guiding two Canadian archaeologists through the ancient city of Babylon — a site that continues to inspire scholars and travelers alike. Standing among the ruins of the Ishtar Gate, the Processional Way, and the remnants of Nebuchadnezzar II’s great empire, we shared thoughts about how Babylon shaped human civilization.
For archaeologists, Babylon is not just a tourist stop — it is a living archive of ancient Mesopotamian culture, kingship, religion, and innovation. From Hammurabi’s laws that influenced legal systems worldwide, to the myths of the Tower of Babel and Hanging Gardens that echo in history and legend, Babylon remains a place where myth and archaeology meet.
It was a privilege to exchange knowledge and reflections with experts who dedicate their lives to uncovering humanity’s story. Moments like these remind me why I love guiding — every stone has a story, and every visitor brings new questions that keep history alive.
