المؤسسة العراقية للتنمية The Iraqi Institution for Development IID a humanitarian non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2003

The Iraqi Institution for Development “IID”, is a local organization that represents Iraqi Youth. In IID, we believe that Iraq is rich in its resources and that ignorance and poverty are not invincible. Since its establishment in 2003 as a humanitarian organization, IID works on fighting ignorance, poverty and hunger and it provides education and emergency humanitarian assistance in crisis in Iraq

. Now IID is one of the NGOs in Iraq that is active, independent, and nonprofit organization and operational nationwide. IID main office is in Mosul and has branches in Erbil and Basra and has many partnerships with International and local authorities in order to achieve its goals and serve its people. IID, along with its local and International partners, adopts vulnerable people and defends them in International forums and meetings without any religious, racial or sectarian considerations or political affiliations. Internally, IID does its best to influence and amend the internal policies to fight ignorance and poverty. IID activities are no longer limited to activities that just defend the vulnerable in Iraq, but it exceeds to fight the causes and find ways to enable and educate society politically, economically and socially to achieve justice and equality. IID also conducts many activities in the subjects of democracy education, human rights and protection.

مع بداية عامٍ جديد، نستقبل 2026 بقلوبٍ مليئة بالأمل والعزم. كان العام الماضي مليئًا بالتحديات، لكنه حمل معه أيضًا قصص صمود، تعاون، وعطاء لا يُنسى.

ورشة “أهمية التواصل بين الوزارات والمؤسسات الحكومية والمجتمع المدني لمواجهة التطرف العنيف في العراق” وإعادة التأهيل والإدماج للنازحين في نينوى

نظّمت المؤسسة العراقية للتنمية IID ورشة عمل متخصصة استمرت يومين في مدينة أربيل بتاريخ 10–11 كانون الأول 2025، بمشاركة ممثلين عن وزارات التربية والصحة والهجرة والمهجرين، إضافة إلى عدد من منظمات المجتمع المدني العاملة في مجال التنمية وبناء السلام. وقد جاءت الورشة ضمن سلسة فعاليات تهدف إلى تعزيز التنسيق بين المؤسسات الحكومية والمجتمع المدني لضمان استجابة أكثر فعالية للتحديات الاجتماعية والأمنية.

وتناولت أعمال الورشة محورين رئيسيين:
الأول ركّز على أهمية التواصل بين الوزارات والمؤسسات الحكومية ومنظمات المجتمع المدني في مواجهة التطرف العنيف، حيث ناقش المشاركون آليات تطوير التعاون الوطني وتبادل الخبرات، واستعرضوا نماذج لبرامج ناجحة تسهم في الوقاية من التطرف وتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي. كما جرى التأكيد على دور الحوار، وتمكين الشباب، ودعم المبادرات المجتمعية كعناصر أساسية لتحقيق الاستقرار.

أما المحور الثاني، فسلّط الضوء على إعادة التأهيل والإدماج المستدام للنازحين العائدين في نينوى، من خلال مناقشة مراحل عملية الإدماج، التحديات الميدانية، وتطوير الخدمات التعليمية والصحية والدعم النفسي والاجتماعي. كما ركزت جلسات العمل التفاعلية على التقييم المؤسسي وتعزيز التعاون بين الجهات المعنية لما يسهم في تحقيق عودة آمنة وإدماج فعّال.

تُنفَّذ هذه الأنشطة ضمن مشروع “العودة مع الأمل” بدعم من GCERF ووزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، وبإشراف اللجنة الوطنية واللجنة الفرعية لمكافحة التطرف العنيف في نينوى، بما يعزز الدور المشترك للجهات الحكومية والمجتمع المدني في بناء مجتمع أكثر تماسكاً واستقراراً.

Workshop on “The Importance of Communication Between Ministries, Government Institutions, and Civil Society to Counter Violent Extremism in Iraq” and the Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Returnees in Ninewa

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) organized a two-day specialized workshop in Erbil on 10–11 December 2025, with the participation of representatives from the Ministries of Education, Health, and Migration and Displacement, in addition to several civil society organizations working in the fields of development and peacebuilding. The workshop was part of a series of activities aimed at strengthening coordination between government institutions and civil society to ensure a more effective response to social and security challenges.

The workshop addressed two main themes:
The first focused on the importance of communication between ministries, government institutions, and civil society organizations in countering violent extremism. Participants discussed mechanisms to enhance national cooperation and exchange expertise, and reviewed models of successful programs that contribute to preventing extremism and strengthening social cohesion. The discussions also emphasized the role of dialogue, youth empowerment, and community-driven initiatives as key elements for achieving stability.

The second theme highlighted the sustainable rehabilitation and reintegration of returning internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ninewa. Discussions covered the stages of the reintegration process, field challenges, and the development of educational, health, and psychosocial support services. Interactive working sessions focused on institutional assessment and enhancing cooperation among relevant stakeholders to support safe return and effective reintegration.

These activities are implemented under the “Return With Hope” project, supported by GCERF and the U.S. Department of State, and supervised by the National Committee and the Sub-Committee for Countering Violent Extremism in Ninewa. The workshop reinforces the shared role of government institutions and civil society in building a more cohesive and stable society.

تدريب PM+ (حلول إدارة المشكلات) في نينوى
23–25 تشرين الثاني 2025

اختتمت المؤسسة العراقية للتنمية (IID) تدريبًا متخصصًا لمدة 3 أيام حول PM+ حلول إدارة المشكلات، بمشاركة 33 من كوادر دائرة صحة نينوى و4 من موظفي قسم الصحة النفسية في المؤسسة.
يهدف التدريب إلى تعزيز مهارات الكادر في تقديم الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للعائدين، من خلال جلسات تفاعلية، تمارين عملية، ومحاكاة لحالات واقعية.

أظهر المشاركون تحسّنًا واضحًا في التقييمات وعبّروا عن رضاهم ورغبتهم بمزيد من التدريبات المتقدمة.
يمثّل هذا التدريب خطوة مهمة في تقوية خدمات الصحة النفسية في نينوى ودعم العائلات العائدة نحو التعافي والاستقرار، ضمن تعاون مستمر مع دائرة صحة نينوى.

PM+ (Problem Management Plus) Training in Ninewa

23–25 November 2025

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) successfully concluded a specialized three-day training on PM+ (Problem Management Plus), with the participation of 33 staff members from the Ninewa Directorate of Health and 4 mental health staff from IID.

The training aimed to strengthen the participants’ skills in providing psychosocial support to returnees through interactive sessions, practical exercises, and real-case simulations.

Participants showed clear improvement in their assessments and expressed high satisfaction with the training, along with a strong interest in receiving more advanced capacity-building opportunities.

This training represents an important step toward enhancing mental health services in Ninewa and supporting returning families on their path to recovery and stability, as part of ongoing collaboration with the Ninewa Directorate of Health.

ركز التدريب على تعزيز مهارات المشاركين في فهم الصحة النفسية، وخدمات الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي، والتعرف على الاكتئاب والقلق واضطراب ما بعد الصدمة، والاستجابة الفعّالة من خلال تمارين عملية، ومناقشات جماعية، وتمثيل الأدوار، وأساسيات العلاج السلوكي المعرفي (CBT)

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) successfully conducted a 3-day training on MHPSS SOP (Standard Operating Procedures for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support) for 33 staff members from the Department of Health and MHPSS units in Ninewa
The training focused on strengthening participants’ skills in understanding mental health, MHPSS services, recognizing depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and responding effectively through practical exercises, group discussions, role-plays, and basics of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The participants showed clear improvement in post-training assessments and expressed high satisfaction with the interactive sessions, requesting further advanced trainings
This training represents an important step toward improving the quality of mental health services and supporting returnee families in Ninewa

📍 خلال الفترة من 19 إلى 22 أيلول، تم تدريب 25 مشاركًا من برنامج BSO على مفاهيم الذكاء الاصطناعي، تعلم الآلة، والشبكات العصبية، مع التركيز على التطبيقات العملية والتأثيرات المستقبلية لهذه التقنيات في سوق العمل.

شارك في الورشة ممثلون عن عدد من الوزارات والمؤسسات الحكومية، من بينها:

Workshop: "The Role of Ministries and Government Institutions in the Reintegration of Returnees from Al-Amal Camp"

📍 Erbil
As part of the “Return with Hope” program, supported by the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) and the U.S. Department of State, and under the supervision of the National Security Advisory / National Committee for Countering Violent Extremism, the Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) organized a two-day training workshop in Erbil focused on preventing violent extremism and strengthening reintegration efforts for returnees.
The workshop brought together representatives from various ministries and government institutions, including:
the National Security Advisory, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Migration and Displacement, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Communications and Media Commission, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, as well as members of subcommittees from different provinces.
The workshop aimed to enhance inter-ministerial coordination and develop a unified national approach for rehabilitation and reintegration processes. Through interactive sessions and group discussions, participants addressed:
✅ Challenges facing rehabilitation and reintegration efforts
✅ The importance of reintegrating returnees to promote community stability
✅ Mechanisms for coordination between ministries, government institutions, and civil society
✅ The role of civil society organizations in supporting reintegration efforts
This workshop is part of IID’s ongoing efforts to promote stability and build more cohesive and resilient communities.

ضمن مشروع بناء القدرات بدعم من هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة (UN Women)، نظّمت المؤسسة العراقية للتنمية (IID) ورشة تدريبية حول المتابعة والتقييم والمساءلة والتعلّم (MEAL) في مكتب بيسان في الموصل. 🌟
قاد الورشة مستشار المؤسسة العراقية للتنمية ومسؤول المتابعة والتقييم في IID، وركّزت على تعزيز مهارات الموظفين في استخدام الأنظمة المطوَّرة حديثًا وتحسين عمليات المتابعة والتقييم داخل المؤسسة.
يهدف هذا التدريب إلى رفع كفاءة الفريق في إدارة البيانات وتحسين جودة التقارير وتعزيز فاعلية البرامج والمشاريع التي تنفذها المؤسسة في مختلف المجالات. 💪📈

As part of the UN Women-supported Capacity-Building Project, the Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) held a MEAL training workshop at the Bissan office in Mosul. 🌟
Led by IID consultant and IID’s MEAL officer, the session focused on strengthening staff skills in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and improving the use of IID’s upgraded internal systems.
This initiative aims to enhance data management, reporting quality, and overall project efficiency, empowering our team to deliver greater impact across all IID programs. 💪📈

انطلقت يوم أمس أولى فعاليات مهارات الحياة لفريق الدعم النفسي الاجتماعي التابع للمؤسسة العراقية للتنمية في القيارة - مدرسة اركبة شرقي للبنين، بمشاركة 15 امرأة عائدة شاركن في ورشة الريزن (Resin) لتعلّم صناعة القطع اليدوية الجميلة، في تجربة مليئة بالإبداع والطاقة الإيجابية. 🎨💛

يوم مليء بالتعلّم والابتسامات والتمكين، حيث تجد النساء العائدات في هذه الأنشطة مساحة آمنة لاستعادة الثقة وبناء الأمل من جديد. 💖

🕊️ تُنفذ هذه الأنشطة ضمن مشروع العودة مع الأمل بدعم من GCERF ووزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، وبإشراف اللجنة الوطنية واللجنة الفرعية لمكافحة التطرف العنيف في نينوى.

✨ Mosul – October 20, 2025

Yesterday marked the launch of the Life Skills activities by the MHPSS team of the Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) in Qayyarah – Arkaba Sharqi Boys School, with the participation of 15 returnee women who took part in a Resin Workshop to learn how to create beautiful handmade pieces, an experience filled with creativity and positive energy. 🎨💛

The day also included an awareness session on anxiety and stress, delivered by the MHPSS team, to help participants understand their emotions and manage them in healthy ways that promote mental well-being and positive communication. 🌿💬

It was a day full of learning, smiles, and empowerment, where returnee women found a safe space to regain confidence and rebuild hope. 💖

🕊️ These activities are implemented under the Return with Hope project, with support from GCERF and the U.S. Department of State, and under the supervision of the National Committee and Sub-Committee for Countering Violent Extremism in Ninewa.
