North Iceland is also known for whale watching, with multiple companies offering whale watching tours and some operate all year round. Seeing those giant creatures jump joyfully in to the air is like seeing magic - you’ll have a hard time believing your own eyes!
The Icelandic horse can be found all over North Iceland, with multiple options of short and long tours. Some offer exhibitions of the horses and their unique five gaits, including the special Icelandic “tölt.”
Looking for a bit more adventure? River rafting in the rivers Jökulsá Vestari or Jökulsá Austari is sure to give you all the adrenaline you seek for, with tours suitable for everyone.
