Midnight Sun Whale Watching in North Iceland 🐋
What a night in Eyjafjörður!
On our Midnight Sun Whale Watching tour from Dalvík, we encountered an incredible 10 humpback whales, 3 minke whales, and countless harbor porpoises under a stunning red midnight sky.
The highlight? A humpback whale diving beneath the glowing sunset while another surfaced beside the boat with its enormous mouth wide open, feeding right at the surface.
Moments like these remind us why North Iceland is one of the best whale watching destinations in the world.

When will you be celebrating the whales on board with us?
Today’s classic whale watching tour from Dalvík was pure magic – our guests applauded as a humpback whale went for a deep dive, after we’d already spotted 5 humpbacks and 1 curious minke. We’ve seen humpback whales on every tour in May, often joined by minke whales and harbor porpoises. When are you joining us in North Iceland?

We are celebrating a full year of humpback whales being present in the Eyjafjord.

Since April 21st, 2025, there has continuously been at least one humpback whale here — and at times, up to 50 individuals throughout the year.

We set a record in this period going out on 876 tours in a row showing humpback whales, from June to March sharing these incredible encounters with our guests.

This is the second time we’ve witnessed something like this since we began our year-round whale watching operation in 2014 — and it confirms what we’ve always believed:
Eyjafjörður is one of the most amazing whale watching areas in the world.

And from Dalvík, right in the heart of the fjord, we get to experience it every single day.

Record run of humpback whales in the fjord is from 11. April 2023 until 25. March 2025. Now as we are on a run we hope to break it.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey — and to the whales for making it unforgettable 💙

There are moments at sea that simply stop time.

A humpback whale begins its deep dive — powerful, graceful — with the snow-covered slopes of Kaldbakur standing quietly in the background.

Spring is arriving in North Iceland, but winter still lingers in the mountains… creating a scene you don’t forget.

This is why we go out.

Today’s whale watching tour from Dalvík gave us a very special reunion 💙

We spotted Piero, a humpback whale we’ve known since 2021. He carries a few scars from an old encounter with a fishing boat—but he’s proven just how resilient these animals are. Strong, thriving, and back again in Eyjafjörður.

He’s been in the area for about 10 days now, and today we watched him gently dive beneath the surface, with the snowy mountains of Eyjafjörður as a stunning backdrop.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

What a spectacular day on the water! Today, our Máni whale watching boat from Dalvik had the incredible privilege of turning off our engines and simply soaking in the magic of nature as two majestic humpback whales gracefully circled around us.

April weather brought the perfect backdrop for this awe-inspiring encounter. The sun was shining, the sea was calm, and the thrill of witnessing these gentle giants in their natural habitat was nothing short of unforgettable.

Join us on this adventure and experience the beauty of Iceland's marine life up close! Every moment spent with these magnificent creatures is a reminder of the wonders of our planet.

Book your whale watching experience with us today and create memories that will last a lifetime! 🐳❤️

Another amazing day on the water in Eyjafjörður!

Today we encountered three species during our tour:
🐬 Harbor porpoises
🐬 White-beaked dolphins
🐋 Our well-known humpback whale Ryder

And today we reached something very special:
Tour number 876 in a row seeing a humpback whale!

This is the longest humpback whale sighting streak in our company’s history, and we are incredibly proud of it.

Every single day we feel grateful to share these incredible animals with our guests in our beloved Eyjafjörður, one of the most reliable whale watching locations in the world.

Thank you to our crew, guides and guests who make these moments special every day.
