We plan almost everything for our clients except flights to and from Iceland. Iceland Outfitters is a travel agency focusing on fishing, hunting and high end sight seeing tours to Iceland. Iceland is known by its magnificent pure nature and it is the home of the mighty Atlantic Salmon. There are endless rivers and streams in Iceland where anglers can fish for salmon, trout and char. Trout season is from April to October. Geese shooting is also a major attraction for hunters from all over the world. The season opens August 20th and prime time is from mid September through October. Please contact us for information about fishing and hunting tours in Iceland

A special moment on West Rangá River. 🎣

Last week, we had the honour of welcoming 97 year old fly fishing legend Joseph Humphreys to West Rangá.

While fishing Hólmabreiða Pool with Karani as his guide, Joe landed his first Atlantic salmon in Iceland. As the fish came to hand, tears rolled down his cheeks, a moment that touched everyone fortunate enough to witness it.

At 97, Joe’s passion for fly fishing is as strong as ever.

We dug up some September photos from the past few years.

If you’ve spent enough time around brown trout anglers, you’ve probably heard a few stories about the ION Beat on Lake Þingvallavatn.

Some sound almost too good to be true. Aggressive takes, follows that make your heart stop, and fish you’ll think about long after the trip is over.

September has always been one of our favourite months on the beat. The days get shorter, the trout become more aggressive, and every cast feels like it could be the one.

The ION Beat is also perfect for a one day trip from Reykjavík. 🤠
