Reykjanes peninsula is one of the most active volcanic area’s in Iceland. It has 5 active volcanic systems that are apart of the Reykjanes volcanic belt. One of It’s system is now maybe just hours away from an eruption. 🌋

The area that will most likely begin eruption is located right in between the capital area and the international airport.

This is definitely worrisome for a lot of people in Iceland, but most likely this will not be a catastrophic eruption and will probably not affect our livelihood. 🙂
