Pilates Everywhere

Pilates Everywhere Pilates Everywhere is a pilates and hiking retreat to some of the most beautiful places in Iceland.

Pilates Everywhere is the brainchild of Gudbjorg Arnalds and Kyle Gates. The idea was born after a hike over Fimmvörðuháls, a 21 km trek with a 1000 m elevation gain (the trail goes directly past the two new volcanos, Magni and Móði, that emerged after the eruption on Fimmvörðuháls, that preceded the infamous eruption in Eyjafjallajökull in 2011). Many of our travel companions (Kyle included) were

suffering knee, hip and back pain after the steep climbs and ascends. After using pilates exercises that targeted the abdominals and other pelvic stabilizing muscles many felt immediate relief. We love Pilates, and pilates is at its best when it enables us to do all the things we really want to. Every trip will incorporate pilates, hiking through beautiful landscapes, and delicious whole foods enjoyed with a community of explorers who are there for new experiences and good times.

Yesterday we ended the day by walking on Rauðasandur to find sellátur (the location where seals have their pups) and we found about 150 of them hanging out in the sand enjoying the nice day.

Starting the day off with hundred and some IT band love next to the calm ocean.

We just returned from scouting hikes for this year. Friday we explored around Látrabjarg. Before we left on the hike we had a moment looking at the seals hanging out on rocks just off shore, killer whales playing in the waves and puffins flying around.
